'1923' Season 2 Episode 4 "Journey the Rivers of Iron"

Writer: Je-ReeJe-Ree

I am sure I say this every weekly review but 1923 is one of the best shows on television right now.

The episode begins with Donald holding a dinner with a bunch of important men, investors and he is pitching his new business ventures. He is really keen on opening the ski resort in Montana. While I love Timothy Dalton as an actor, I just want Donald gone, which of course speaks to his talent as an actor. Everything he says makes sense and of course become apart of the world we know but the way he has treated the Duttons – I cannot stand him.

I knew Alexander was going to get mugged. That scene was so hard to watch. I really hoped that someone would come in to help her. I was screaming Spencer the whole time. Why does this show love to torture me so?

Zane’s surgery was also a scary moment. I’m glad it worked out and he can now walk again but for a minute there, I thought that it did not work.

Elizabeth is really getting on my nerves. I am trying to have sympathy but I’m finding it hard to give her some. I also knew she was pregnant. I guess this means she is staying put for now. Also, it seems the last few days have rattled the doctor.

Spencer of course gets caught by the police and taken back to the truck. The police say he has to deliver the booze or go to jail, and they are going with him. I just want him to get back to Montana. Are we really going to have to endure another season and he is not going to make it back to his family? Now Spencer is involved in a whole shoot out simply for doing the right thing and saving a boy. He must travel on a train and cannot sleep, or he will get hurt. When they do attack him, he of course shows them why he is the baddest and takes them out. He should have thrown the bodies off the train and kept going.

I understand where Banner is coming from trying to get his family a better life but to steal from someone else that worked for it is not the way, so I am not rooting for him at all. Banner also knows he is in with Donald way over his head when he has him dispose of a dead girl for him.

Overall, this episode was really good with highs and lows. Transparency, I’ve never seen Yellowstone, so I am unsure if any of this has been spoiled. Obviously, they keep the ranch but at what cost? No one spoil it for me in the comments but share your thoughts on the episode below and remember to vote in our poll.
