After two delays due to the recent Los Angeles wildfires, the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards finally took place on Friday, delivering a memorable night filled with triumphs across both television and film. FX’s Shōgun emerged as the night’s biggest winner, dominating the television categories with four wins out of five nominations.
The acclaimed drama triumphed in the major TV categories, taking home Best Drama Series, along with individual acting awards for Hiroyuki Sanada (Best Actor in a Drama Series), Tadanobu Asano (Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series), and Moeka Hoshi (Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series). While Anna Sawai, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series, was a contender, the award ultimately went to Kathy Bates for her role in Matlock.
