We have reached the end of the three part season opener for 9-1-1. The bee-nado sadly only lasted one episode. The promotion would've been better served highlighting the plane which lasted two episodes. Also, maybe they could've had a few more bee emergencies because overall the bee-nado felt more like a bee-drizzle.

Other than that slight disappointment, I enjoyed the rest of the trilogy.

The episode kicked off with Athena skillfully landing a commercial plane on the busiest freeway in Los Angeles, and it concluded with Bobby and Athena casually locating the black book of a sex trafficker. Just another day in the marriage of Athena and Bobby.

Landing a plane on a busy freeway is peak Athena, showcasing her incredible skills under pressure. The subplot with Dennis taking a bullet was intense, but it’s great he made it through. Athena definitely doesn’t need more burdens to carry. Their scenes at the hospital were very emotional and great acting from Glenn Plummer.

Thursday's episode also shone a light on Brad (portrayed by Callum Blue), the actor from Bobby's show who insisted on joining him on the firetruck. He did help instead of being in the way, surprisingly but his first encounter with Buck provided some comic relief where Buck was astonished to learn that the actor from TV's biggest firefighter series is British. Life imitating art type of thing. For those that do not know Buck is British in real life - took me by surprise when I realized it.

Now Gerrard loves Buck - he did save his life. There is a potential positive aspect to this situation. If Buck ends up becoming Gerrard's new apprentice, even if it's not by choice, that should lead to some great drama.

Now that this storyline is out of the way, lets hope to get to the real drama. I need to know what is going to happen with Hen's family. Will my prediction of her and Chimney having some discourse be correct? How will Bobby get his job back? Will Brad become an actual actor turned firefighter? Will Dennis come back later in the season?
