Netflix is transforming its inaugural live NFL telecast into a Super Bowl-style spectacle by enlisting global music superstar Beyoncé. The Grammy-winning artist will deliver a special performance during Netflix’s first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday on December 25. Her set is scheduled during the second game of the day, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium at 4:30 PM ET.
The performance, produced by Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, marks her first live showcase of tracks from her latest album, Cowboy Carter. The album, which recently garnered 11 Grammy nominations, may also feature appearances from collaborating artists. This event highlights Netflix's ambition to disrupt traditional NFL telecasts with a production rivaling the Super Bowl halftime show. Beyoncé, no stranger to high-profile stages, previously headlined two Super Bowl halftime shows. She performed at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans in 2013, where she reunited with Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and at Super Bowl 50 in 2016 in Santa Clara, California, alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars.
Netflix recently inked a two-year deal with the NFL for exclusive Christmas game broadcasts in 2025 and 2026. This year’s Christmas lineup kicks off with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 PM ET. In keeping with NFL holiday tradition, the Netflix Christmas games will also air on local broadcast channels in the competing team cities and be accessible on U.S. mobile devices via NFL+.
This announcement comes on the heels of Netflix’s live telecast of a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which faced technical issues, including audio and streaming glitches.
Beyoncé’s history with Netflix includes the critically acclaimed 2019 documentary Homecoming, which chronicled her iconic Coachella performance. She is also reportedly tied to a multi-project deal with the streaming giant.
