For some reason, Andre is taking photos of Ashley and Derek at the hospital. Derek seems to be in better shape, although he is still in pain. Andre plans to put his picture in the paper and have a story about him, which Ashley thinks is nice—but Derek disagrees.
Tomas joins Kat at her parents' house, brings a bottle of wine, and greets her with a peck on the lip. They briefly discuss Eva, who is on her way out. Kat still doesn't trust Eva, pointing out that her mother always sees the best in people, even those who don’t deserve it. Meanwhile, at the Duprees, Nicole expresses concern that Dani is attending some "business meeting," reminding everyone she was just packing heat at the wedding. Vernon reassures her by noting Bill and Hayley are thousands of miles away.
But Dani is actually at Bill and Hayley’s home, holding a big gift box. Bill, the security guard, stops her and hesitates before informing her they’re on their honeymoon. Dani calmly reassures him, saying it’s fine—she’s only dropping off a gift because she’s over it. George remains skeptical, and Dani casually tells him it’s a bomb.
Back at the hospital, Andre reviews photos on his camera and flashes back to Ashley calling him out for constantly flirting with her. Meanwhile, Ashley asks Derek to clarify what he meant earlier about Andre. Derek pretends ignorance. An older woman enters, thanking Derek for saving her baby’s life.
Anita made rolls to complement the dinner prepared by their chef. They offer Nicole some, but she declines, needing to leave shortly. Vernon jokes that he's lucky because he gets to start with dessert—having Anita all to himself. He playfully complains that the kids are draining him.
Dani laughs at the security guard, who nearly panics at her "bomb" comment. She assures him she was just joking. Dani insists she holds no ill will toward Bill and Hayley and simply wants a fresh start. She asks for the security code so she can leave her gift inside. When he hesitates, worried about losing his job, she charmingly reminds him he's practically family. Dani says it’s a peace offering—a secret between them.
Back at the hospital, it turns out the "baby" the older woman referred to is actually her cat, which she’s brought to visit Derek. She gushes about his heroism, though it doesn't help Derek’s lack of personality. She’s sweet, though. Derek insists he was only doing his job, but Ashley is upset because Derek knew the ceiling would collapse yet still went inside.
Kat prepares a meal her grandmother taught her; Coq Au Vin admits her kitchen was too small, so she uses her parents’ place. She and Tomas toast with wine. She asks what it’s like working for her uncle. He offers two versions of the story—a truthful one and a fake one—admitting he embodies both. Kat doesn’t hesitate to tell him how low-down Bill is and that she can't trust him. Tomas reveals the best thing about the job was getting Bill's blessing to pursue her.
Dani asks the guard if he trusts her. He recalls Bill’s recent press conference and ends up siding with Dani, giving her the security code. The problem is there's a camera—what is she thinking? Meanwhile, Bill and Hayley are in a limousine, they had to cut their honeymoon short due to work. They kiss, and Hayley showers praise after praise on Bill to the point of making me nearly lose my lunch.
Dani carefully avoids the camera and enters the security code, bringing the gift inside. At the hospital, Nicole approaches Andre, asking what he’s up to. He swiftly switches Ashley’s photos to one of Nicole and Ted, then shows them to her. When he brings up Eva, Nicole playfully warns him to keep his hands off. He is a player and Eva is a nice girl. Andre insists Eva is just a friend; his interests lie elsewhere. Meanwhile, Ashley scolds Derek for his bravery—or stupidity. Derek insists she knows the risks of his job. Ashley senses something is off, causing Derek to snap defensively that he'll call Dr. Nicole if he needs a psychiatrist. When Ashley presses about his comments on Andre, Derek lies, claiming it was nothing. Ashley gets paged and leaves.
Kat asks Tomas his thoughts on her meal, then confesses her parents actually prepared it. They flirt, and Kat declares that for this to truly be a date, it needs to end with a kiss. Tomas asks why she waits and kisses her immediately—the chemistry sparks. When Kat asks what he’s thinking, he playfully responds that if her kitchen is small, how big is her bed? Kat slows things down, admitting she has another confession: she's a virgin.
Bill and Hayley engage in conversation, though it's hard to follow because they're insufferable. They discuss their future travels and city lore. Meanwhile, Dani, alone in their home, notices a bottle of wine identical to the one at her wedding to Bill.
Noting the similarities—"same act, different cast"—she opens the bottle. Elsewhere, Bill, the security guard, visits Anita and Vernon, who invite him in for dessert. George casually mentions Nicole’s meeting and Dani’s "business trip." He almost slips up, causing Vernon and Anita to press for details.
Tomas asks Kat to confirm what she said. He can hardly believe it and asks gently if it’s for religious or health reasons. Kat clarifies she’s simply waiting for the right person and the right time. She explains that some men react poorly upon learning this, but Tomas reassures her he's had an amazing night—he couldn't possibly be disappointed.
At the hospital, Derek suffers a nightmare: Ashley declares she’s in love with Andre, they're moving in together, and they're adopting a cat named Derek. He wakes up sweating. Meanwhile, Andre shows Ashley a video and leans in to kiss her, but she backs away.
George lies for Dani and leaves Anita and Vernon’s place to head back to work. Dani, now drunk on Bill and Hayley’s wine, wonders who to blame more—her ex or "the viper." She opens another bottle. Bill and Hayley bask in the afterglow, Hayley smugly remarking that Bill had plenty of "run-of-the-mill vanilla" and deserved some rocky road. Dani passes out drunk at Bill’s house.
