Beyond The Gates Episode 6 Daily Recap

We start from Friday’s cliffhanger after briefly summarizing the previous week. The wedding is rehashed from the objection and Dani objects with a gun. Her parents tell her to put the gun away immediately. We flash to Eva and Leslie talking about Dr. Big Shot thinking that he could just wipe them away. He is going to pay for trying to erase them. Back at the wedding, Jacob pleads with Dani. She tells him everyone else can go, but she has unfinished business with Bill and Haley. People leave, and Jacob tells Dani to put the gun down. I had hoped it was a dream sequence. Dani ponders where to shoot, which could cause the most pain.

At the lounge/bar, Derek is waiting for Ashley, puzzled by her delay. In reality, she's stuck in an elevator with Andre and a pregnant woman. Inside, Ashley is trying to calm things down, while Andre appears both annoyed and nervous.

Dani tells Haley not to hide behind Bill at the wedding, so Haley steps forward. Bill retorts that he doesn’t understand what she’s trying to accomplish, and Dani fires back that she’s out to ruin Haley’s wedding—as the scene cuts to a phone live broadcasting the moment. Dani says she wants everything he took from her, launching into a rant about how she helped fuel his meteoric rise. Jacob moves in to arrest her, but Naomi stops him. Vernon insists that they need to discuss this in private. Then, Dani goes after Haley, accusing her of wrecking everything she built. She appears completely unhinged—though perhaps rightly so since their demands led her and her family to this wedding.

In the elevator, Andre is desperately trying to call for help as Ashley braces herself to deliver the baby right there. Meanwhile, Leslie tells Eva that her father wasn’t around when she gave birth—he disappeared like the wind when she announced her pregnancy. Leslie recalls how Nicole had him wrapped around her finger; he didn’t care whether they lived or died, and he still doesn’t. She reminisces about the man he was when they first met—a man she’d never known before and who never loved a girl like her. Eva adds that she’s on the inside now.

Dani still has the gun drawn. Bill warns her that she’s gone far enough, but she fires back that she’s tired of holding her tongue. She orders them to get on their knees and beg for her forgiveness. At Uptown, Derek leaves Ashley a message, telling her he'll give her another half hour. While at the hospital, Andre yells for help because the patient is having contractions. Over at Leslie’s, she feels like she's throwing Eva to the lions. Eva insists that her mother deserved better, but Leslie fires back that Eva did too—if only he hadn’t wasted his time on two feckless brats.

Chelsea pleads with her mother at the wedding, and Bill retorts that Haley isn’t kneeling for anyone. Dani then tells him to kneel, and he tries to pull a fast one by grabbing the gun. They struggle, and it goes off, but he eventually wrestles the weapon away from her. Her family rallies around her. Bill then asks if she thinks she owes them an apology, and she snaps, "For shooting flowers?" claiming that’s an improvement before she walks off. Meanwhile, Martin reflects on his career and the impact the family drama will have.

Denise is busy gossiping on the phone at the nurse's station as Ashley delivers a baby in the elevator, with Andre holding the patient’s hand. Derek calls Ashley about their plans at Uptown and decides to head home.

At the wedding, Naomi asks Jacob about his plans for the gun. Martin checks with the photographer to make sure no photos were taken of a gun-wielding Dani, but Chelsea suddenly realizes she live-streamed the whole incident—and now she fears her family will “kill” her. Meanwhile, Leslie grumbles that Ted’s kids had every advantage while Eva got nothing. At the hospital, he looked straight through them as if they were nothing. She points out that Ted only knew her as Dana, her middle name.

The Duprees gather at the family home, trying to come together to figure out how to help Dani—they need to find her. Out at Uptown, Dani’s best friend finds her; although Dani fears judgment, her ride-or-die friend hugs her and tells her she's got her back. Dani says it’s time to face the Duprees.

Hayley cries over her ruined day at the country club, but Bill convinces her to go through with the wedding. Back at the hospital, Derek arrives at the nurse’s station, interrupting Denise mid-gossip. She tells him the last time she saw Ashley, she was getting on the elevator with Andre Richardson.

Meanwhile, Naomi and Jacob arrive at the Dupree home, expecting to see Dani—who shows up shortly after. Anita is furious that Dani just waltzed in after leaving them all worried, declaring that she has disgraced the family. Dani tries to defend herself, but Anita won’t hear it. Martin, however, says he understands. Dani argues that Bill put her through hell, but Anita insists they rise above. Now, thanks to her, Vernon has to grovel to Bill. Anita tells Dani she should be ashamed of herself, and Dani runs off in tears. Nicole follows after her. Naomi, meanwhile, stands up for Dani and tells Jacob that he should go home. He takes offense, but she assures him she’s only looking out for him.

At the country club, Bill and Hayley officially become husband and wife. Back at the Dupree home, Nicole sits with Dani, who has calmed down but is now ashamed. Nicole reassures her, reminding her she was forced to go to that wedding and that she’s only human. Dani, however, is convinced that Anita will never forgive her—she knows better. She tells Nicole that Bill destroyed her, but Nicole pushes back, insisting he hasn’t. "You’re still a wildfire," she reminds her. They hug it out.

Meanwhile, Naomi asks  Martin directly why he is looking at her a way. He asks if he’s sure her husband is okay with everything that happened. Elsewhere, Nicole urges Anita to apologize to Dani, but Anita refuses.

Meanwhile, a baby girl is born in the elevator. At the nurse’s station, Denise informs Derek that a nurse is stuck in the elevator. Just as she says this, the doors finally open, revealing Andre, the patient holding her newborn, and Ashley. Once they step out, the patient asks Andre to take pictures and insists on him and Ashley posing for one together. Derek watches, his expression shifting as he doesn’t miss the look Andre gives Ashley.

Kat and Chelsea then arrive at the Dupree home, and Kat tells them that Chelsea has something important to share. Chelsea accidentally live-streamed the wedding. The family is not pleased, especially since the video has gone viral. Vernon prepares to make calls and set up a press conference. Anita tells Dani she has done enough and needs to sit this out. Vernon agrees.

As Ted comforts Kat, vowing that he will walk through hell for his family, Dana and Eva promise that he will curse the day they meet. That he must pay for what he did to them. Once the secret is out it will blow up his happy life.

Meanwhile, Bill takes Haley home, and in the middle of their celebration, he receives a tip from his connection at The Post. He immediately tells her he has a press conference to attend—just as the Duprees head off to the one Vernon has called.
