Box Office Report: 'Blink Twice' Comes in Strong

The preview numbers for Blink Twice and The Crow reveal some interesting insights into their potential performance this weekend.

Blink Twice: Directed by Zoë Kravitz and starring Channing Tatum, this thriller had a respectable preview haul of $820K. Despite receiving solid reviews (78% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes), the audience response has been lukewarm, with a PostTrak score of three stars and a 50% definite recommend. The $20M budget and positive critical reception suggest it might have expected better numbers. However, projections indicate it could still achieve an opening in the $10M-$13M range, which would be a reasonable result given its current audience reception.

The Crow: The Lionsgate presentation, with a preview total of $650K, appears to be struggling more. The film’s poor reception is highlighted by its low PostTrak score (1 star) and the potential for a very low CinemaScore (D+). Given these early indicators, the film may face significant challenges in attracting audiences over the weekend.

Overall, while Blink Twice has some potential to perform reasonably well despite mixed audience feedback, The Crow faces a tougher road ahead. The mixed results for these films suggest that, despite strong casts and critical support, audience engagement remains a critical factor in their overall success.
