“Surprise! We’re back!” Brandon Beemer (tells TV Insider), who will reprise his role as Shawn Brady on Days of Our Lives starting November 29. He joins Martha Madison, who made her return on November 8.
Madison, who first appeared in Salem in 2003 as Belle Black, the daughter of iconic supercouple John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), was followed by Beemer in 2006 as Shawn, the son of Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso). Both actors have had multiple stints on the soap, with another return uncertain after their last appearances in 2023.
“I honestly didn’t think I’d be back,” Madison adds while speaking to TV Insider.
Both actors are proud to be part of a show that has now celebrated 59 years on the air, with its 60th anniversary coming up in November 2025. The recent loss of her on-screen father, Drake Hogestyn, who passed away on September 28 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, weighs heavily on Madison. She tells TV Insider “I’ve been thinking about him a lot, especially as we’re doing scenes that bring him up,” she says. “He was such a huge influence and the captain of our little ship. When you work with someone for 20 years and call them ‘Dad,’ even if it’s just pretend, it leaves a deep impact. We miss him every day, but I feel his presence often. It doesn’t feel like he’s truly gone.”
Telling TV Insider, Madison teases fans with the drama to come. “There’s so much ahead—lots of chapters for everyone. I love how the stories are intersecting, and it’s been exciting working with everyone. We’re about eight or nine months ahead right now, so you won’t see everything right away, but trust me, it’s going to be amazing.”
