Netflix released details of the upcoming season of their smash hit Bridgerton.
Bridgerton Season 4 is set to be released in 2026. The production process, including filming, editing, and dubbing, is quite extensive, contributing to the long wait between sea
Season 4 will center on Benedict Bridgerton. Known for his artistic pursuits and aversion to settling down, Benedict’s story will take a romantic turn when he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.
This storyline follows the plot of An Offer from a Gentleman, the third book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, where Benedict meets Sophie Beckett at a masquerade ball.
Season 1: Focused on Daphne Bridgerton and her love affair with Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.
Season 2: Highlighted Anthony Bridgerton's fiery romance with Kate Sharma.
Season 3: Showcased Colin Bridgerton’s friends-to-lovers arc with Penelope Featherington, who revealed herself as Lady Whistledown.
Expect most of the Bridgerton family to return, including younger members Gregory and Hyacinth, who will have more prominent roles now that their elder siblings are married.
Colin and Penelope, who found their happily ever after in Season 3, will continue to enjoy their marital bliss in Season 4. Their story will remain in a happy space, similar to how Kate and Anthony's relationship has been portrayed post-marriage.
Penelope’s alter ego, Lady Whistledown, will continue to play a significant role in the series. According to showrunner Jess Brownell, there's still more story to be told with Whistledown, as Penelope has been the show's narrator since the beginning.
While Anthony and Kate's storyline saw them heading to India, their potential return isn't ruled out. The characters' absence can be explained by their travels, but there's an open door for their reappearance depending on the availability of Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley.
With the older Bridgertons settled, the series will begin to shine more light on the younger siblings, Gregory and Hyacinth, as they navigate their own paths in high society.
The show is executive-produced by showrunner Jess Brownell, series creator Chris Van Dusen, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and director Tom Verica.
With Benedict's story up next, fans can anticipate another season filled with romance, drama, and the high society intrigues of the Regency era.
