CBS Daytime Soap ‘Beyond the Gates’ Casts Three in Lead Roles

"Beyond the Gates" formerly "The Gates" is set to make a significant impact as CBS's first daytime drama centered on Black characters since "Generations." With a talented cast featuring Tamara Tunie, Daphnee Duplaix, and Karla Mosley, the series promises to explore the dynamics of the Dupree family, described as “Black royalty.”

Set in an affluent Maryland suburb, the show will delve into the glamorous yet tumultuous lives of its characters, revealing the secrets and scandals that lie beneath the surface of their seemingly perfect existence. Tunie will portray matriarch Anita Dupree, while Duplaix plays her daughter, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, and Mosley takes on the role of Dani Dupree.

With a focus on themes of family, ambition, and societal expectations, "Beyond the Gates" aims to resonate with a wide audience, showcasing the complexities of life in a gated community. Produced by CBS Studios/NAACP Venture and P&G Studios, and led by showrunner Michele Val Jean, the series is set to premiere in early 2025, marking a promising addition to daytime television.
