CBS is expanding its successful sitcom The Neighborhood into a full-fledged franchise with an upcoming spinoff centered on Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) and Marty (Marcel Spears). The Season 7 finale of The Neighborhood will act as a backdoor pilot for the new series, introducing three fresh characters who will join Calvin and Tina’s sons as they branch out on their own. These new characters include a socially awkward tech millionaire, an aspiring influencer, and a content creator working for a Southern California cannabis shop.

The untitled spinoff, which is being developed for the 2025-26 TV season, will follow Malcolm and Marty as they leave their parents’ home to start a new chapter in their lives. The show’s official description teases that they will navigate the challenges of being newcomers in Venice Beach, a neighborhood that feels both familiar and completely different from what they know.

Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, the current showrunners of The Neighborhood, will write the script and serve as executive producers alongside Cedric the Entertainer, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, and Eric C. Rhone. This new series will be distinct from another The Neighborhood spinoff, Crutch, which stars Tracy Morgan and was ordered to series in May. Crutch will bypass CBS and debut on Paramount+ instead. Morgan will not reprise his role as Curtis, Calvin Butler's wealthy brother, but will play a new character: Francois "Frank" Crutchfield, a widowed Harlem man whose plans for an empty nest are derailed when his adult children move back home.

The second Neighborhood spinoff follows the success of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the second spinoff from The Big Bang Theory after Young Sheldon.

In addition to McKinney and Spears, The Neighborhood stars Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin, Max Greenfield as Dave, Tichina Arnold as Tina, Beth Behrs as Gemma, Skye Townsend as Courtney, and Hank Greenspan as Grover. Season 7 will resume with new episodes on Monday, January 27, at 8/7c on CBS, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Paramount+. A decision on whether the show will return for Season 8 is expected in the spring.

In other news, Food Network is bringing back Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking for a second season. In Season 1, hosted by Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), bakers created cakes inspired by the movie sets at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. Chefs Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef judged the competition, with appearances from Harry Potter cast members like Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley). Gladiator II will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting Tuesday, January 21.

Additionally, Elsbeth will feature guest appearances by Tracey Ullman (from The Tracey Ullman Show) and Jordana Brewster (known for Lethal Weapon and Dallas), who will play a professional psychic and a "lifestyle consultant," respectively.

Julia Lester (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) will also appear in Netflix’s upcoming series The Four Seasons, playing the daughter of Steve Carell and Kerri Kenney-Silver’s characters. Finally, Prosecuting Evil With Kelly Siegler Season 2 is set to premiere on Oxygen True Crime on Saturday, January 25, at 8/7c.
