'Cujo' Remake Coming to Netflix

Writer: Je-ReeJe-Ree

His bite is worse than his bark! Netflix is back in the horror game with the announcement of the remake of Cujo. Cujo the novel by Stephen King was released in 1981 while the film was released on August 12, 1983 (come through Leo).

Cujo tells the story of a rabid Saint Benard (not Beethoven) who terrorizes a mother, and her child trapped in a car. Stephen King is no stranger to his novels being adapted for the small and big screen. Let’s run down the list, shall we?

You have heavy hitters like The Shining, It, Carrie, Stand by Me and Shawshank Redemption to name a few. Did we mention that new television adaptations of Carrie and a prequel to It (Welcome to Derry) are also dropping soon courtesy of Amazon Prime Video.

So, who is behind this new Netflix collaboration? Barbarian producer Roy Lee will you guessed it, produce the series which as of date does not have a director, writer or cast. The original film earned twenty-one million dollars with a budget of six million.

Lewis Teague was involved in the original film remake, which starred Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh Kelly, and Danny Pintauro. It

will be tough to follow this original cast, but I have faith.

I am still waiting for a Doctor Sleep sequel, but we take what we can get in the world of Stephen King. While details are minimal, horror fans are ecstatic that their favorite murderous dog is returning to them. I do not know about anyone else, but that dog scared me growing up and I cannot wait to be scared again.

Is there a Stephen King novel you want to see come to the big screen or perhaps the TV screen? Drop a comment, we would love to hear from you!
