In Daredevil: Born Again, Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer with heightened senses who fights for justice both in the courtroom and on the streets of New York. However, as Fisk re-emerges as the city’s mayor with his own political ambitions, the battle between these two old enemies intensifies. As their respective alter egos—Daredevil and Kingpin—start to resurface, the inevitable collision course between the two is set.
Alongside Cox and D’Onofrio, Daredevil: Born Again sees the return of several beloved characters from the original Daredevil series. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page, Elden Henson returns as Foggy Nelson, and Ayelet Zurer is back as Vanessa Fisk. Jon Bernthal will also return as Frank Castle (The Punisher), as well as Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter (Bullseye).
The series also introduces new faces to the cast, including Margarita Levieva (Revenge) as Heather Glenn, Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) as Daniel Blade, Nikki M. James (Severance) as Kirsten McDuffie, Genneya Walton (Never Have I Ever) as BB Urich, Clark Johnson (Evil, Bosch) as Cherry, Arty Froushan (Carnival Row) as Buck Cashman, and Zabryna Guevara (New Amsterdam) as Sheila Rivera.
Originally set for a Spring 2024 release, the series underwent a creative overhaul in Fall 2023, which led to a brief production pause. Dario Scardapane (The Punisher) replaced Matt Corman and Chris Ord as showrunner, and some original Netflix cast members, including Woll, Henson, and Zurer, were re-cast. After resuming filming in January 2024, the nine-episode season is now scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, March 4.
As for a second season, rumors suggest that filming could begin as early as February.
The big question now is whether the retooling of the show has resulted in versions of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk that are even more faithful to the characters Cox and D’Onofrio first brought to life in Netflix’s Daredevil series. Fans will have to tune in to find out.
