David James Elliott and Melanie Scrofano Join Syfy’s Revival
Melanie Scrofano, known for her role in Wynonna Earp, has joined the cast of Syfy's Revival, alongside David James Elliott, famous for JAG. This new series is based on the comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton and takes a unique twist on the resurrection theme.
Set in a rural Wisconsin town, the show explores what happens when recently deceased individuals come back to life, appearing and behaving just as they did before. The story centers on Dana Cypress (played by Scrofano), a local officer and single mother who finds herself entangled in a brutal murder mystery amid the chaos of Revival Day, which upends her plans to leave town. Elliott will portray Wayne Cypress, Dana's father and the town sheriff.
The cast also includes Romy Weltman as Martha “Em” Cypress, Wayne's younger daughter, who has lived a sheltered life due to a recurring illness, and Andy McQueen as Ibrahim Ramin, a CDC scientist sent to investigate the bizarre events in the town.
Revival has begun production in New Brunswick, Canada, with Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce serving as showrunners and executive producers. The series promises to deliver a thrilling mix of mystery and supernatural elements.
