Javi, Kerry, and Gabi
Javi prepares breakfast for himself and Kerry, but Gabi tries to sneak a bite. Kerry arrives, warmly kissing Javi and meeting Gabi, who teases about being introduced to “the famous Kerry.” After Gabi leaves, Javi and Kerry discuss their blossoming relationship, taking things slow, and dealing with the latest Lady Whistleblower column targeting Body and Soul. Kerry finds the gossip entertaining, while Javi defends both the show and Leo. Kerry reassures Javi of their connection with a passionate kiss before agreeing to take things at Javi’s pace.
Faith’s Exit and Charlemagne’s Return
Leo interrupts Abe and Paulina’s breakfast with updates on Faith’s dramatic exit storyline, which includes resurrecting Charlemagne. Abe balks at the idea, but Leo insists the scene is already written. Abe and Paulina question the plausibility and ethics of the twist. Despite their skepticism, Leo defends his vision, blaming Lady Whistleblower for derailing his original plans. Abe reveals Stephanie traced payments to Lady Whistleblower back to Rochester, NY, and Leo proposes sending Rafe to investigate. When Abe denies funding the trip, Paulina steps in, eager to help Abe and keep Rafe out of Jada’s investigation. Abe agrees to table the Faith storyline for now, pending Kate’s input, while Leo heads off to speak with Rafe.
Jada’s Growing Suspicion
Jada grows uneasy when she can’t reach Rafe, prompting her to call Shawn and then Steve. Steve confirms Rafe was never assigned a case. Piecing together the events of New Year’s Eve, Jada recalls EJ mentioning Rafe’s supposed mission. Meanwhile, EJ struggles to manage Arnold, the Rafe doppelgänger hiding in the mansion. Arnold, restless in hiding, suggests impersonating Rafe to throw off suspicion. When Jada confronts EJ, accusing him of knowing where Rafe is, EJ denies involvement and claims Rafe ran off. As Jada grows more insistent, Arnold inadvertently reveals himself by stepping out of the secret passage.
JJ, Gabi, and Shawn
At the station, Shawn welcomes JJ back as his new partner. Gabi stops by to return JJ’s money clip, leading to playful banter and flirtation. Gabi shares Javi’s wedding plans for Rafe and Jada before leaving. Shawn keeps quiet about Jada’s investigation, hinting it’s personal. JJ and Gabi’s budding connection doesn’t go unnoticed by Shawn.
Leo arrives at the Hernandez home, urging Javi to help him find Rafe. Meanwhile, Jada pushes EJ for answers, accusing him of orchestrating Rafe’s disappearance out of revenge. EJ denies everything, but before he can shut her down, Arnold steps into view.
