Rafe’s Predicament
Rafe is trapped in the DiMera basement. He tries to answer Jada’s call using his foot but struggles. EJ, bringing Rafe food, gets a call from Belle about accepting the DA position. Belle explains she didn’t seek the role but was offered it. EJ feels betrayed by Paulina and Jada. Belle urges him not to seek revenge. In the basement, Rafe manages to accept Jada’s call, but EJ interrupts and hangs up. EJ insists Rafe should be mad at Arnold, not him, claiming Arnold’s impersonation of him has kept Jada off the trail. When Rafe suggests teaming up to take Arnold down, EJ hesitates, fearing Arnold might expose him. EJ then texts Jada, pretending to be Rafe, but Jada senses something is off and alerts Shawn.
Leo’s Loneliness
At his hotel, Leo deals with solitude and sees a Lady Whistleblower post speculating about his love life and potential firing.
Jada and Javi
Javi sees the same Lady Whistleblower notification at home and finds Jada preoccupied with Rafe’s strange call. He suggests calling again, but it goes to voicemail. Javi tries to cheer her up by discussing her upcoming wedding to Rafe, even offering to be her wedding planner. Jada mentions wearing Javi’s mother’s ring as her engagement ring. Their conversation shifts to Javi’s feelings for Leo, which Jada notices are still strong.
Chanel and Joy’s Confrontation
Chanel answers Johnny’s call only to hang up on him. She then confronts Joy about ruining her marriage under the guise of friendship. Joy apologizes, claiming she didn’t know Johnny was married, but Chanel is furious about the betrayal. Joy inadvertently reveals EJ’s involvement, angering Chanel further. Chanel calls her a horrible person and leaves, vowing never to see her again.
Leo, Joy, and Johnny
Leo warns Joy she’ll face “pink pages” due to her drama with Chanel. Joy worries Lady Whistleblower will expose her involvement with Johnny and Chanel. Upset, she leaves, running into Javi and Leo on the way.
Later, at the Body and Soul office, Leo pitches a storyline involving Chanel and Joy’s characters. Johnny declines, citing their real-life feud, and confesses the details of his ordeal with Chanel and Joy. Leo shares his own regret over losing Javi, while Johnny doubts Chanel will forgive him. After Leo leaves, Chanel arrives and announces she’s quitting Body and Soul.
Belle’s Decision
After hanging up with EJ, Belle discusses the DiMera mansion’s NYE party and her new DA role with her mom, Marlena. Marlena supports her but warns her to be cautious around EJ. Belle admits she’s unprepared to see Shawn daily but thanks him when he delivers case files to get her started. Marlena reassures Belle she’ll excel as DA.
