Days of Our Lives opens at the Hernandez household, where Rafe and Javi share a drink. Rafe informs Javi of Jada’s new position as commissioner, and Javi confides in him about his issues with Leo.
Paulina pressures Jada to find Hattie Adams and demands answers about the poisoned cupcake incident targeting Abe. She even questions whether making Jada commissioner was the right decision. Jada defends the police’s efforts and tells Paulina she can reinstate Rafe if she’s unsatisfied.
Meanwhile, Leo bursts into Marlena’s office, claiming his life is falling apart. He recounts his issues with Javi, his fears about sabotaging their relationship, and his concerns about leaks involving Body and Soul. Marlena advises him to consider apologizing to Javi.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny struggles with guilt over lying to Chanel. EJ encourages him to make a decision, but Johnny remains unsure. Chanel visits Alex and Joy, announcing the cupcakes didn’t come from Sweet Bits. Both Alex and Chanel have something to share, Meanwhile, Joy panics when Chanel mentions Johnny talking in his sleep and saying her name.
But Alex covers when Chanel asks what he wanted to tell her. After Chanel leaves, Alex admits he stayed silent not for Joy’s sake, but to protect Chanel.
Johnny confides in EJ about his guilt, worried Chanel might find out the truth another way.
Paulina later apologizes to Jada for her harshness, and Jada reassures her they’ll find Hattie and the culprit behind the cupcakes. Paulina mistakenly accosts Marlena, believing she’s Hattie, and later apologizes, admitting she’s been on edge since Abe’s injury.
Rafe questions Javi about being Lady Whistleblower, which Javi denies, expressing his hurt and frustration over Leo. Rafe comforts him, noting he dodged a bullet with Leo.
Leo visits Javi, apologizing and asking for another chance, but Javi refuses and kicks him out. Marlena counsels Leo on his self-sabotaging tendencies, encouraging him to reflect on his actions.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Chanel shares her suspicions about a vibe between Joy and Alex. Johnny grows uneasy and changes the subject. He brings it back to how lucky he is to have Chanel. Joy insists that Chanel doesn’t need to know the truth, saying, “What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her.”
