The episode begins with Abe snacking on chips, which he quickly stashes away when Paulina emerges from the kitchen, fretting over flight delays that might prevent Eli and Lani from making it home in time. Paulina finds the chips and engages in some playful banter with Abe, just as Eli and Lani walk in, sharing a sweet family moment. Lani lends a hand with the babies, and Paulina offers Eli and Lani their old jobs back at the Salem PD. Lani declines, reminding Paulina that she can no longer be a cop, while Abe jokes that she could still play one on TV. Lani explains that she's taken a part-time position at the kids' school, and Eli is happy with his current job. The offer is turned down, but they assure Paulina they'll be back to visit. Eli heads off to see Julie.
Meanwhile, Gabi finishes a call with Ari when JJ arrives, asking for her help with a delicate situation. He wants Gabi to "play his sister" and act as a decoy for Clyde. Gabi initially protests, pointing out their lack of resemblance, but JJ reminds her of the time Abigail posed as Gabi and managed to convince everyone. After discussing the plan, Gabi agrees to help, still bitter about how Clyde ruined her life.
Chad and Julie have a tense conversation, with Julie questioning why Abigail's imposter is staying in their home. As Jennifer and Jack walk in on Cat talking on the phone, Julie demands to know Chad’s reasoning. She refuses to let Cat stay for Thanksgiving, but Chad insists that she won’t be downstairs. Cat attempts an apology, but Jennifer slaps her before she can finish. Julie still struggles to understand Chad’s decisions but ultimately acknowledges his need to deal with Clyde. Chad leaves to check on dinner, and Julie gets a call from Hope about Bo’s condition, which isn’t improving. Julie reassures Hope and expresses how much she misses her.
Meanwhile, Jennifer and Jack express their frustration, and Chad walks in just as Cat is trying to explain herself. Chad finally reveals the full plan to them. JJ arrives and insists that neither he nor Gabi should face Clyde alone, but Julie volunteers to watch the kids while Chad leaves to confront Clyde.
Eli greets Julie, and they have a brief chat. Jack, meanwhile, finds Doug in bed, unresponsive, and struggles to wake him up in a heartbreaking moment. Later, Jennifer and Eli talk, and Julie hears the news about Doug. At the town square, Cat again apologizes to Chad, but he's fed up and tells her it's time to move on. Gabi and JJ arrive, and Gabi, though grateful for the help, doesn't hold back in confronting Cat.
In the final emotional moment of the episode, Jack confides in Julie that Doug is not waking up, leaving their family facing yet another difficult challenge.
