Days of Our Lives opens at the Horton home, where Doug Williams is looking through family photos. He pulls out Alice Horton’s diamond necklace, which he stole, and reflects on the moment he overheard it being found. A flashback reveals Doug’s presence when the necklace was discovered. The scene cuts back to the present as Julie enters the living room.
Meanwhile, at the Brady Pub, Steve, Kayla, and Roman discuss Julie and how much she needs her family. Hope arrives and warmly embraces them.
In Horton Town Square, Jack and Jennifer discuss their concerns about Chad and JJ.
In Canada, JJ and Gabi wake up together. Cat has a nightmare about Clyde killing her mother. She confesses to Chad that she feels everything she did for the Hortons and Chad was for nothing. After sobbing, she pulls herself together as Chad encourages her. They discuss retrieving Abigail’s remains and Clyde’s instructions. Elsewhere, JJ teases Gabi, who opens up about the hurt Stefan caused her. JJ, in turn, expresses his disdain for Stefan.
Back at Horton Town Square, Jack reassures Jennifer about JJ and Chad’s abilities, which helps calm her. However, Jennifer remains worried about JJ. Jack reminds her that they’re doing this for Abigail.
At the Horton home, Julie talks to Doug about Hope and her children. She brings out a time capsule to show him, only to realize Alice’s diamond necklace is missing.
At Roman and Kayla’s, Hope shares her suspicions about Doug, her father’s grandson. Roman and Kayla admit they weren’t aware of this grandson, and they agree with Hope’s concerns. She admits she doesn’t trust Doug at all and believes he may have an ulterior motive.
Julie approaches Jennifer about the missing necklace. Jennifer explains that it was stolen after the funeral, and they suspect someone close to the family is responsible, which is why the police haven’t been called. Julie is stunned.
In Horton Town Square, Steve and Jack meet and discuss JJ and Chad’s efforts to uncover what happened to Abigail’s remains. Steve also uses his contacts to track Clyde’s location.
At their hideout, JJ and Gabi find a note slipped under the door.
Cat reveals to Chad that she still cares about him, but Chad doesn’t believe her. She tries to justify her past actions, but he insists nothing can excuse them. Later, they are interrupted by JJ and Gabi.
Back at the Horton home, Jennifer shares her suspicion that Steven (Julie’s brother) stole the necklace, citing his troubled past. Julie defends Steven, insisting that history isn’t proof and he has changed. Jennifer points out that Steven had the opportunity and was alone in the house. Julie refuses to believe her brother is guilty.
Kayla agrees with Hope’s suspicions about Doug. Hope asks her and Roman to stay vigilant, mentioning that she shared her concerns with Jennifer. Hope reveals she has someone investigating Doug and his family.
JJ, Gabi, Chad, and Cat discuss the details of their plan. They call Steve, who has uncovered new information and asks them to call for backup. Chad insists there’s no time for that.
Hope contacts Harris to get in touch with Doug’s father, Charles. After speaking with Charles, she confirms Doug is his son and not an imposter. However, Hope remains wary of Doug’s intentions, as she doesn’t want Julie to be taken advantage of.
Back at the Horton home, Julie continues to defend Steven. Jennifer insists that Ciara and Lucas confronted him, and Doug mentions that Steven left in a hurry. Jennifer steps away after receiving a message from Jack. Julie becomes emotional, reflecting on how much her brother’s presence at Doug’s memorial meant to her. She admits it would break her heart if Steven was guilty.
Hope finishes her call with Charles but remains uneasy about her nephew. She says goodbye to Kayla and Roman.
JJ and Gabi enter the apartment Steve directed them to and begin searching. Meanwhile, Chad and Cat head to a club to meet Clyde. Chad reveals he has a gun.
Doug assures Julie that even if Steven let her down, she can count on him. Hope arrives, they share an emotional goodbye mentioning Bo and Doug their loved. Julie goes to get Hope doughnuts to go. Alone with Doug she says if he hurts Julie the next visit won’t be pleasant.
Back at the apartment, JJ finds a laptop as they continue searching. Suddenly, Clyde enters with a gun.
At the club, Chad calls out for Clyde, but the person who enters is Cat’s mother.
