Days of Our Lives Daily Recap 12/2

The episode begins with Marlena Evans looking at a Spectator newspaper honoring Doug Williams when Liz Chandler arrives. Marlena welcomes her warmly, and they catch up, reflecting on Doug’s legacy and Julie’s grief. Liz mentions her excitement about reuniting with everyone, except Marie Horton, with whom she shares unresolved tension.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Horton looks at old family photos of Doug and the Hortons as Lucas joins her. They reminisce about Doug and Julie and discuss how Julie is coping. In Horton Town Square, Maggie meets Marie, and they embrace, discussing the loss of loved ones, including Marie’s siblings and Maggie’s husband, Mickey.

At home, Julie wakes up, noticing Doug’s absence. She gazes at their wedding ring and flashes back to their early days together. Unexpectedly, her brother Steven enters through the window, recalling his old habit of sneaking in. Julie is thrilled to see him and ensures he’s not in legal trouble, noting her grandson Eli’s role in the FBI. Steven reassures her he’s changed, thanks to a spiritual transformation.

Ciara and Shawn join Lucas and Jennifer, sharing family updates, including Hope’s absence as Bo is showing signs of recovery. Ciara reveals photos of her children, Bo and Addie, and attempts to open a time capsule, ultimately succeeding where others failed.

Elsewhere, Eli and Lani discuss Doug’s obituary and his past, including his time in prison with Bill Horton. Abe, Paulina, Roman, Kayla, Patch, and Jack gather to reflect on Doug’s remarkable life and speculate on who will attend the funeral.

Marie and Maggie continue discussing family memories and regrets. Marie’s bitterness toward Liz resurfaces when Liz approaches, prompting an awkward exchange. Liz later reflects with Marlena on her complicated history with Marie and the gratitude she feels toward Doug for giving her a chance.

At the funeral preparations, Julie tells Steven about Eli, Lani, and her pride in their accomplishments. They revisit Steven’s troubled past and how he disappointed her in business, but he insists he’s changed. Julie admits she believes people can transform, noting Doug’s journey from his earlier mistakes to becoming the man she loved.

Finally, Marlena, alone in her home, recalls her friendship with Doug. She’s interrupted by a knock at the door—it’s Belle, who reveals she’s in town but hasn’t told Shawn yet, giving him space to process his emotions.
