Days of Our Lives Daily Recap 12/3

Days of Our Lives opens with a reimagined flashback of Doug being released from prison, saying goodbye to Bill Horton. Steven appreciates Julie’s faith in his ability to change. Julie reflects on how Doug transformed his life and shares her love for Steven. She invites him to the funeral, and he agrees, noting how much it means to her.

Marie expresses her disdain for Liz Chandler, only to run into her shortly after. Liz greets Maggie and notes how much she respected Marie’s parents but admits she couldn’t stand Marie. The tension escalates as Marie and Liz argue about Neil Curtis, Liz’s shooting of Marie (which Liz claims was accidental), and Liz’s affair with Marie’s husband. Maggie intervenes, demanding they stop and urging them to make peace for Doug’s sake. Begrudgingly, they agree.

Julie excitedly notices Steven standing, while Jennifer, Lucas, and Shawn marvel at Ciara opening the time capsule. Together, they examine its contents: letters and mementos, including baby footies from Addie and Tommy. Julie is touched by their presence and introduces Steven to the family. She shares her gratitude before declaring it’s time to say goodbye to Doug.

As they walk out, Steven notices his grandmother Alice’s jewel necklace. Marlena and Belle observe Marie and Liz’s temporary truce, with Marlena expressing cautious optimism. Julie arrives at the service, thanking everyone for coming.

The memorial for Douglas Williams begins. Shawn Douglas reads scripture, and Ciara shares one of Doug’s favorite poems. Julie delivers a heartfelt eulogy, assisted by Eli and Shawn Douglas. She recounts Doug’s journey: from an orphaned child to a WWII veteran, his discovery of his singing talent, raising his daughter Hope, owning Doug’s Place, and his kindness and generosity. Liz Chandler performs “Loving You” as a tribute, joined by the others while flashbacks of Doug and Julie’s love story play.

After the service, Julie thanks her Aunt Marie for attending and expresses gratitude to Liz for singing. As guests give their condolences, Jennifer reminds Julie it’s time for the burial. Julie takes a private moment with Doug’s picture, gathering herself before leaving.

Marlena and Belle reflect on Julie’s eulogy and Doug’s legacy. Marlena encourages Belle to reconcile with Shawn, who unexpectedly knocks on the door. Elsewhere, Abe and Paulina toast Doug with Eli and Lani, while Kayla, Patch, Jack, and Roman do the same.

Back at the Horton home, Jennifer, Lucas, Ciara, and Marie discover Alice’s diamond necklace is missing. In Horton Town Square, Steven confides to his grandmother about the treasure, admitting that while he might have stolen it in the past, he has changed. Meanwhile, at Doug’s grave, Julie shares her thoughts when a young man arrives, claiming to be Doug Williams, leaving Julie stunned.
