Kayla collapses into Steve’s arms, barely breathing, prompting him to call 911. Meanwhile, Alex and Stephanie admit their feelings for each other, but before they can kiss, Alex faints. Stephanie manages to wake him and lowers his fever while waiting for emergency services.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny questions why Leo killed Seth but passes out before he can call him. Chanel revives him and, unable to get an ambulance, decides to drive him to the hospital herself. Elsewhere, Leo realizes the fake script came from the stalker. When Hattie suddenly collapses, he assumes she’s dead and reminisces—until she groggily tells him to shut up.
Unable to get emergency help, he cares for her himself.
Abe finally connects the dots and confronts Whitley, who gleefully confesses to sabotaging the show. She insists she was protecting its legacy and reveals she poisoned the cast using an experimental drug. Just as she prepares to poison Abe, Paulina intervenes, subduing Whitley and tying her to the bed.
At the hospital, Seth rants about being written off Body and Soul before suddenly clutching his chest in pain. Sarah rushes to help, and when Steve arrives with news of Kayla’s collapse, they realize both were poisoned. An antidote is quickly developed, saving Kayla, Johnny, and Alex, who wakes up just in time to kiss Stephanie.
With everyone recovering, Johnny and Chanel reaffirm their love, Leo promises never to take Hattie for granted, and Steve vows to bring the culprit to justice. Meanwhile, Whitley, lost in delusion, mistakes Abe for a character from her beloved show. Despite Paulina’s skepticism, Abe shows her compassion, playing along as she murmurs to herself in a daze.
