'Emily In Paris' Season 4 Part 2 Review
Emily Cooper is one of those television characters that you love or hate. She can be naive and immature sometimes, but she can also be fun and lovable.
Season 4, Part 2 of Emily in Paris, allows audiences to see Emily in a new light. With a change of location came growth and reflection for the charming protagonist.
Emily made her way to Rome after the holidays, but it was a journey to get there.
Part 2 started with a corporate Christmas party hosted by Sylvie, showing the joy and fellowship that comes with holly jolly festivities. Emily excitedly talked about her plans to fly home to Chicago.
Unfortunately, her travel plans crash, and she gets an invite to spend Christmas in Megève with Gabriele, Camille, and Camille's parents.
The American heroine soon realizes that she is Gabriel and Camille's third wheel once again, only this time it's in her own relationship. She starts questioning her place in his life, knowing that Camille is pregnant with his child, which she's really not, as revealed in Part 1, but nobody knows.
The reality of Emily's predicament begins to click in her mind on the icy and snowy slopes, changing the season’s trajectory and adding new characters.
One of the characters is Genevieve, Sylvie’s husband Laurent's daughter, who comes to stay with her father and stepmother. She definitely shakes things up and inserts herself into Emily's life.
Speaking of Emily, with the drama that comes her way, she decides to jet off to the iconic Italian city of Rome, where she finds romance with a new hot Italian man named Marcello. That relationship is truly a breath of fresh air.
New life opportunities for Emily also come with the Eternal City. However, the chaos of her life in the City of Love always seems to follow her.
Mindy, Sylvie, Alfie, Luc, and Julien's character arcs are also explored, as they have their own business and personal experiences. This is incredibly appreciated.
What's most endearing about the series is that these characters are unique in their own way and have their own life experiences. What rings true for each of them is that they're not afraid to live life to the fullest, chase their dreams, and make mistakes. The show does a fantastic job of conveying that message.
There are twists and turns and excitement for new adventures. Some rivalries and friendships form. And there are obstacles and trials to be overcome, and we'll see it all happen under beautiful backdrops.
Unsurprisingly, the season finale ends on a cliffhanger, but it perfectly sets up the anticipation for season 5. Whether in Paris or elsewhere, the heartfelt and campy series will surely bring a new set of complications for Miss Emily Cooper and her friends.
