Prepare yourself to re-enter the tumultuous world of Euphoria — Season 3 production is scheduled to commence in January 2025!
During a recent press event, HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys confirmed the start of filming, stating that production is set to begin in mid to late January. Bloys mentioned, “We are shooting Euphoria. I believe we have a start date, mid to late January. We're in the process of filming the season, I've reviewed the scripts, and we're pleased with them. We're moving forward with the project.”
Bloys also disclosed that Season 3 will consist of eight episodes, aligning with the episode count of the previous two seasons.
As the cast, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and others, prepares to return to the set, here's everything we currently know about the upcoming season. This guide will be continuously updated with new castings, photos, trailers, and any breaking news. Keep checking back for the latest updates!
At the conclusion of Season 2, Rue (Zendaya) was sober and working on rebuilding her friendship with Lexi (Maude Apatow). Ashtray (Javon Walton) tragically died during a violent altercation with the police at Fezco’s (Angus Cloud) residence. Nate (Jacob Elordi) turned in his father Cal (Eric Dane), and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Maddy (Alexa Demie) were left dealing with the aftermath of their intricate friendship.
Series creator Sam Levinson hinted that Season 3 might include a time jump and potentially adopt a film-noir style, narrated from Rue's perspective. While HBO has not officially confirmed the full cast for the upcoming season, it was announced in July that the main cast, including Zendaya, Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Elordi, Apatow, and Demie, will all be returning.
In a November update, Casey Bloys affirmed that "everybody is expected to come back" for Season 3. Furthermore, during a July 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Bravo, Colman Domingo confirmed his return as Rue’s sponsor, Ali.
Unfortunately, Euphoria will move forward without certain key members. Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fez, tragically passed away in July 2023 from an accidental overdose. Additionally, Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, will not be returning after announcing her departure in August 2022.
Javon Walton, who portrayed Ashtray, will also be absent in Season 3 due to his character's tragic demise in the Season 2 finale. While new cast members for Season 3 have not been confirmed yet, this post will be updated once more information about additional castings is available.
Currently, an official premiere date for Euphoria Season 3 has not been announced. However, with production commencing in January 2025, it is likely that the new season will air later in 2025. Stay tuned for further updates!
For those interested in catching up or revisiting the drama, all episodes of Euphoria are accessible for streaming on Max (with subscription), Amazon Prime Video, Hulu (with premium subscription), and Apple TV+ (for purchase).
