And we are back! Our favorite tango partners are in full stealth mode as the midseason premiere brings us into the hunt for Sir and continues Gabi’s redemption tour with her M&A family.
Brass knuckles ready, we pick-up with Gabi and Sir at the high school. Even though it always warms his heart to see her, the clues he planted were not for Gabi. He seeks Trent’s attention who he believes is not Gabi’s intellectual equal. Therefore, Sir must give him an education. “I know you can’t come to me with your people in need…I will solve their problems,” Sir tells Gabi. And if you recall, Sir is determined to solve everyone’s problems. [SPOILER] It is at this moment we learn Sir had an ace up his sleeve the entire time – he knows where Margaret’s son is.
As Gabi and Sir dance, we get a glimpse into the M&A team’s new normal. In an effort to distract Zeke who lost his tech, Lacey, Dhan and Ethan cheer him up with drinks and bad karaoke. It’s nice to see some smiles and laughs as they answer one of the most uncomfortable questions – how are you? Lacey shares she is not in law school and we learn Dhan is currently separated from Ethan, who got his own place.
Introducing new cast member, Danielle Savre (a familiar face from Station 19), we see Trent found comfort to heal his broken heart. And it doesn’t look like Heather is leaving anytime soon. Once again, smiles and laughs as everyone navigates a new normal. And potentially, preparing for a life without Gabi. Will Lacey be ready to lead? Will Dhan forgive himself for not being able to save Gabi from jail? As the M&A team internally ponders next steps, a new case pulls everyone together even though they are still not whole again.
A case close to Dhan’s heart, Ian is a missing recovering addict which has everyone on high gears to solve. Understanding the importance of second chances, Dhan steps out of his comfort zone and does the press conference in an effort to find him.
As the M&A team pulls clues together, they realize Trent has been blocking their efforts and knew where Ian was the entire time – at his house. And not only does Gabi find Ian, she also sees a lace bra left behind by Heather. Like I said, I don’t think Heather is going anywhere.
Ian is a witness to a crime while he was in jail and is preparing to testify. Understanding the magnitude of the case, Gabi and
the team goes to the courthouse with Ian where gun shots ring and Dhan is hit.
At the hospital, Ethan is scared and furious. He and Dhan seemed to be on the road to reconcile (I mean, who doesn’t love Janet Jackson) and now they may never get their happily ever after. He cannot look at Gabi. Ethan says he will take the lead when it comes to Dhan’s care and asks Gabi to leave. Devasted yet controlled, Gabi understands and does what he asks. Leaving more broken pieces among them.
With a glass of bourbon, Gabi does what she knows best and rethinks all her movements, all her actions that got her to this place. Looking at old pictures, she realizes that Sir is in constant movement. Is Sir in an RV? Nope, not tonight. Sir decided to go to his intended pupil from the beginning of the episode, Trent. And he brought a gift. Pictures of unsolved missing kid cases.
Oh, and he also has Trent’s gun. This can’t go well. Baffled, Trent doesn’t understand what he is alluding to. Then the final puzzle piece clicks, the lead detective was his father James Trent. And Sir is ready to ruin his father’s legacy for his true heart’s desire, Gabrielle. Who said chivalry is dead? Speaking of saving the day, the episode closes with another cliffhanger with Gabi outside Trent’s door and the sound of a gunshot inside. Is Trent okay? We have to wait till the next episode to see what happened behind the closed door. FOUND airs Thursday nights at 10pm, stream next day on Peacock.
