'From' Season 3 Episode 2 Review: When We Go

Updated: Oct 2

Give out all the Emmys to this cast but especially to the lead - Harold Perrineau.

The flashbacks and Boyd’s breakdown at Tian-Chen’s funeral are some of the series' most poignant moments, perfectly illustrating the toll this mysterious town takes on its residents.

Fatima’s unsettling pregnancy adds a chilling layer of mystery. The juxtaposition of her symptoms and her reaction to the rotten vegetables hints at something sinister lurking beneath the surface. It certainly raises the stakes and keeps viewers on edge!

That moment with Tabitha and Victor’s dad is such a pivotal turn in the story! The connection between her visions and his wife’s past adds an intriguing layer to the mystery. It raises questions about how the Town influences those who come there—especially through substances like acid. The ominous reply about the basement sets up a chilling sense of anticipation.

The paintings in the basement must be haunting, especially since they depict both the terrifying aspects of Fromville and those eerie children. It’s fascinating how they mirror Victor's own drawings, suggesting a deeper, possibly inherited trauma or connection to the Town's dark history. Those visuals likely serve as a powerful narrative tool, conveying the horror and despair that permeates the lives of the residents. It makes you wonder what secrets lie in those paintings and how they relate to the mysteries surrounding the Boy in White.

Those paintings are bound to spark plenty of theories among fans, especially with all the intricate details from previous episodes. The connections to the Faraway trees and the lighthouse suggest a rich tapestry of lore that the show is weaving, making each image a potential clue to unraveling the mystery of Fromville.

Kenny’s plan to burn the monsters while they sleep is a clever twist, and it shows how they’re starting to think more strategically about their situation. It’s a stark contrast to Boyd’s approach, which might feel a bit more reckless given what’s at stake.

Overall, this thread deepens the lore of FROM while keeping us glued to the screen, eager to unravel the connections and discover what lies beneath the surface!
