General Hospital Daily Recap 11/20

Lulu Spencer Wakes Up from her coma!  What’s next?

This episode opens with Liz and Lucky outside Bobbie’s at the funeral wake/reception.  Lucky is still unsure about leaving or staying in Port Charles.  Liz tries in her subtle way to urge him to decide.  She tells him to look deeper.  Lucky doesn’t want to hurt Aiden and Liz or give them false hope.  Liz knows Aiden’s  fine with his Dad’s decision.

Molly and Alexis are at Diane’s office.  Alexis is frantically searching for Sam’s will to find out what her wishes are so she can carry them out.  Alexis refuses Molly’s help to find it, because Diane would not approve due to confidentiality since Molly’s an ADA (Assistant District Attorney).  Alexis continues her search.

Danny and Jason are at Sam’s grave site and Danny takes a flower  from his Mom’s site and places it at  Sam’s baby girl Lila’s grave site.  Danny  says his Mom is with her baby girl now and asks his Dad if she’s at peace.  Jason saddened by the thought of both gone, looks like he’s going to cry.

Dante comes home to their empty apartment and Kristina is coming downstairs with a box.  They greet each other, and Kristina explains she’s there going through Sam’s things together, so he and the kids didn’t .have to.  She said she could come back later, if he wanted her to go.  Dante said she could stay.  He looks through a box of things he doesn’t recognize.  Kristina says she got them for Sam to use when she came home to recover after her surgery.  Dante said that was nice.  They sit on the sofa and talk about Sam. ante said he was looking forward to waiting on Sam hand and foot when she got home after her surgery.  They were making plans for the kids Christmas lists, and other things.   Kristina said is nice he and Sam were making plans.  Dante disheartened, says for what.

Lulu’s Awake!  Her eyes open and she looks at her hospital bracelet on her wrist and tries to get up.  She feels a pain on her side and looks at the bandage on her abdomen.  She peels it back revealing the surgical sutures.  She touches it, seems to winch in pain and pass out.

Jason and Danny are talking at Sam’s gravesite, and Jason answers his son assuring him that his Mom is at peace.  Danny asks him if he believes in heaven.  Jason wants to, and if there is, he believes Sam is there with her daughter.   Jason tells Danny that Lila died before Sam got to know her, but he knows she missed Baby Lila every day.  Danny said his Mom never talked much about Baby Lila.  He says it would be cool if they got to know each other there in heaven.   Family was the most important thing to Sam.  Jason senses Danny’s holding something back and asks him what it is.  Danny confesses he was thinking of something bad that he did.  Jason asks him to tell him.  He thinks he hurt someone his Mom loved very much.

Liz and Lucky are still talking outside Bobbie’s Restaurant.  She tells him he doesn’t have to tiptoe around Aiden or  her.   But he does have to decide and stick with it.  Lucky questions that he must commit to something.   Liz asks if he decided, because it seemed that he was leaning toward returning to Africa.   Lucky says aid work is natural to him and he’s at least helping people.  She understands him.  He asks her how he tells their son, and if he has her support, too.  She doesn’t answer, because she sees Lucas and goes to check on him.

Back to Dante and Kristina, and he’s telling her about him working up the courage to finally ask Sam to marry him.  They only had one day to think of the rest of their lives together.  He’s still mad that they didn’t have any time together.  It’s not fair to him.  Kristina gives him another way to look at what happened.   She tells him about what Alexis said when Sam was telling her about the engagement.  She said it was the happiest she’d ever seen her.  Dante gave her that gift, and he said it was a better way of looking at things.  He keeps thinking that Sam is dead because of him.

Molly begs her Mom to take a breath and stop looking for Sam’s will.  Alexis does that and says the one of Sam’s wishes was that Molly and Kristina would come together again.  She’d be happy to see that.  Molly is emotional because of Sam’s funeral and now Ava’s trial starting tomorrow.  Alexis forgot about the trial.  She asks her daughter how she feels.  Molly spills everything she’s feeling.  She’s all nervous because of her Dad representing Ava, and he’s added Molly as a witness for Ava’s defense.

Liz, Lucas and Lucky are inside Bobbie’s sitting talking about why Lucas didn’t go to the service.  Liz let him know Sam loved him and would have wanted him there.  He loved her and explained that he could also be the reason Sam is gone.

Danny lets his Dad know that he could be the reason his Uncle Lucas wasn’t at the funeral.  Jason presses him for an answer.  Danny tells his Dad that he got angry and lashed out at his uncle.  He’s the reason he wasn’t at the funeral.  He told Jason about accusing his uncle of it being his fault his Mom died.  They don’t know if it is true.  Danny knows how much his Mom loved his uncle and wishes he could take it all back.

Alexis doesn’t believe Rick had the audacity to make Molly a witness for Ava’s case.  She thinks Ava is responsible for Baby Irene’s death. Molly tells Alexis that her Dad honestly believes Ava’s innocent, and that it was all a tragic accident.  Alexis says Rick is cold-blooded.  Molly sees how strategic and  legally smart her Dad is.  Alexis hopes Molly isn’t advocating for Ava.  Molly assures her Mom, she’s not.  She does admit that it’s no secret she and Kristina were having problems.  She could see her Dad’s method is sound.  Who’s more compelling to provide testimony that shows  Kristina was more volatile and unstable, than her own sister who’s also an ADA.

Dante’s still angry.  He tells Kristina that Sam was always the problem solver.  She was always fixing things.  Kristina agrees and adds that Sam was always helping her fix her issues, too.  Dante says it was him and Rocko, Sam was helping by jumping at the chance to relieve all the pain and frustrations they were having because of Lulu’s coma.  Of course she would agree to be the liver doner for her.  Kristina agrees but doesn’t understand why Dante thinks Sam’s death is his fault.  She says Sam chose to donate a part of her liver.  Dante thinks her choice was to protect him and Rocko, which is why she chose to be Lulu’s liver doner.

Lulu’s at the long term care facility, Turning Wood.  She hears the doctor discussing her case with Cyrus.  Cyrus is saying Laura asked him to represent her family at the facility.  Lulu is remembered her last conversation with Cyrus at GH.  He spoke about making her life very difficult if she didn’t.  He asks the doctor if he could sit with his niece.  He goes into her room and tells her not to worry, because he’s going to take care of her just as he promised.

Kristina contradicts Dante saying that Sam wouldn’t do anything she didn’t want to do.  She tells him that Sam was deliberate, looked at all her options before deciding.  She made a choice.   He said that choice killed her.  Dante still thinks Sam’s decision was based on her wanting to protect him and Rocko.  Kristina tries to explain that it was unfair that Sam died because of her decision.  She realizes it was devastating but it still wasn’t his fault she died.   She admits life isn’t fair.  She knows that better than anyone after losing Sam and Adela (Irene).

Alexis asks Molly if she’s prepared to testify against her sister, Kristina.  Molly says she would if her Dad called her to the stand.  Alexis says it’s a risk that would destroy all the progress she and her sister made to get together again.  Molly says the alternative  of letting Ava go free is not an option she can live with.  Alexis doesn’t understand any of this, and why her father is making her do this, causing her irrevocable harm.  Molly says it’s her Dad’s way of helping her.  He thinks he could make her see that it was a horrible accident, and then she could let go of her resentment and move forward.   Molly says she got a subpoena and can’t get out of it.  Alexis argues other people could give a testimony, and it doesn’t have to be her.  Alexis goes back to searching for Sam’s will and finds it.  Molly asks what it says.  Alexis says Sam named Drew as Scout and Danny’s legal guardian.

Jason tries to calm Danny and assures him Lucas understood why he asked him to leave.  Danny says it was a messed-up thing to do.  Jason says it’s all right.  Danny wishes he could fix it.   Jason tells Danny Lucas didn’t want any of this to happen.  He knows Danny wants a reason why his Mom died, but there may not be one.  It is the hardest thing to accept.

Lucky and Liz both try to help Lucas with his guilt.  Unfortunately, Danny saw him as responsible for his Mom’s death.  Lucas understands Danny’s a kid looking for an answer.  Lucas tells them he honestly was looking for a reason not to attend the funeral, and  anger and hurt feelings gave him that.  Portia calls him as he admitted that and asked him to come by her office.  He agrees and asks if something was wrong.  She says they have his sister’s autopsy report.  He leaves quickly.  Lucky and Liz are sad he’s beating himself up over this.  They agree it will take a while for Lucas to get over this.  Meanwhile, Jack Brennan walks over to their table to say hello to Lucky.  Liz leaves to meet with Portia.  Brennan asks Lucky if he’s decided.  He could leave that night.

Jason tells Danny it is good he feels bad for Lucas.  Danny is confused and asks why.  Jason tells him that he shouldn’t want to take his pain and anger out on other people.  Danny asks for any tips on how to not do that.  Jason says he struggles with managing his emotions.  Danny asks if that’s what really happened between him and his Uncle Drew.

Alexis and Molly discuss the fact Sam wanted Drew to have custody of both Scout and Danny.  Alexis says it’s what the will says.  Molly doesn’t  understand why.  Alexis doesn’t know why Sam didn’t update the will once Jason returned.  Molly suggests maybe Sam didn’t change it on purpose, because Sam and Jason weren’t always in agreement about raising Danny.  Sam may have had concerns about Jason raising him alone and keeping Danny safe.Kristina apologized about making her grief the forefront of the discussion she and Dante were having about Sam.  Dante disagrees and states her grief doesn’t take a back seat.  He validated her pain.  Kristina loved her sister’s giving ways.  Dante wished she was more selfish, and maybe she’d still be there now.  Kristina asks him if he preferred being burying Lulu now instead.  Dante’s phone goes off alerting him of the big day tomorrow for Ava’s trial.  He’s been called as a witness for the prosecution.  Kristina will also be there for the prosecution.  They BOTH agree that Ava’s going down.

Lulu’s doctor stops by her room and asks to talk to Cyrus.  He tells Cyrus that he plans to inform the rest of the family about Lulu’s improved health, and she may come out of her coma. Cyrus says he will tell Laura that Lulu was showing great improvement, but he’d rather not give Laura any false hopes at this time.  Lulu hears their conversation and pretends to be asleep.

Portia and Lucas discuss the autopsy results.  She didn’t want to wait until tomorrow to tell him.  The findings show that there was no surgical error that could have contributed to Sam’s death.  Portia tells Lucas that nothing he did led to Sam’s heart attack.  Lucas is finding this hard to believe.  He stutters and tries to speak, but nothing coherent comes out.  He is hesitant, and Portia reassures him that nothing he did led to Sam’s heart attack.  She also thanks him for being so open through the whole process.  She understands it wasn’t easy for him.  Lucas asks what did cause his sister’s heart attack.  Portia gives him the report, and he reads it. They exchange a curious look, as if, something suspicious is in the report.

Lucas calls Lucky immediately after he leaves Portia’s office to let him know Liz went to see Portia.  He doesn’t know why.  Lucky asks if that is a problem, and Lucas says he doesn’t know.  He asks Lucky to check on Liz because he thinks she may be in trouble.  So, Lucky’s departure plans may be put on hold.

Liz and Portia discuss the autopsy report, and the drugs administered to the patient.  The toxicology report attributes Sam’s death to an overdose of digitalis.  Liz says no one prescribed digitalis.  She reviewed every medication that was administered.  Portia says she read every file and record on Sam’s case, and knows Liz documented everything.  Portia says they need to conduct an investigation.  They need to review all of Liz’s Nursing Team’s movements, every medication, every individual who tended to her and all actions taken from the moment Sam was admitted.  Liz stops Portia, and asks if she’s being held responsible for Sam’s death?  Portia doesn’t say but re-emphasizes that they need to conduct an investigation.

Cyrus leaves Lulu’s Room and Lulu tries to get up to leave.  She falls to the floor in pain.
