Ava’s Trial Begins. Trina’s Testifies. Why is Cyrus keeping an eye on Lulu? Where’s Laura? Who murdered Sam? Will Curtis and Michael unite against Drew?
Today’s episode opens with Michael meeting with Drew in the Quartermaine Living Room. Drew says they have a lot to discuss. Michael’s phone rings. It’s a call from Curtis, but he ignores it. At the gym, Curtis is troubled remembering his conversation with Michael. Could he trust Drew? Not if what Michael says is true. Curtis continues his strenuous workout trying to clear his head. Jordan enters the gym and sees he’s a little stressed. He agrees to talk with her about his frustrations, specifically Drew. Curtis calls both Michael and Drew to get much needed answers. Both unavailable, as Drew and Michael discuss the Drew-Willow problem. Drew asks Michael if he told Jason about his kissing Willow. Of Course he did! Michael explains why. Drew wants everyone to move past the Willow-Drew ‘kissing incident’ but lies about what else he’s done. He says Curtis is a good interim CEO for Aurora, but Michael is the best choice. Oh NO! Drew just knifed Curtis in the back!
At Turning Wood, Lulu’s vital signs are being checked recorded by a nurse. Lulu waits until the nurse leaves and tries again to get out of bed. She steadies herself and makes it to the sofa. She hears Cyrus talking to her doctor about transferring her to a facility in South Carolina and makes it back to her bed to continue her coma pretense. Cyrus creepily whispers in her ear that he’s there to take care of her. YIKES! Where’s LAURA?! Later, Lulu waits until Cyrus and some more nurses leave and painfully gets out of her room. She is outside the administrative office and hears her doctor say they are ready to transport Lulu to the new long-term facility in South Carolina. She pulls the fire alarm and escapes before Cyrus returns. Outside the facility, Lulu flags down a car, and guess who pulls over.
Sonny and Alexis give their daughter, Kristina, a few last-minute testifying tips, emphasizing she stay calm and not to let Rick rattle her. Trina and Joss enter the courtroom, followed by Gio, TJ and Molly. They sit on opposite sides of the room. Trina behind Ava, and the others behind Kristina. Lines drawn.
The prosecution’s opening statement paints a dark picture of Ava Jerome, and how she’s responsible for Irene’s death. There’s even a flashback of Kristina falling out of the window. Rick then addresses the jury for Ava’s defense. He says he will prove Ava Jerome is innocent. He makes it clear the trial is not about Ava’s past mistakes, but about what happened to Kristina Corinthos Davis. Kristina is responsible for the horrible accident. Baby Irene would be alive today if it weren’t for Kristina’s actions. The prosecution’s witnesses give their testimonies. Gio, Joss, gave harrowing accounts. Eva, Blaze’s Mom, gives her account of the incident. Trina’s testimony includes her seeing Ava in the window after Kristina’s fall. Rick cross examined her and easily blew her testimony to pieces.
The ER doctors give their statements. Dr. Park tells why Baby Irene couldn’t be saved. Rick introduced more doubt in Mr. Park’s statement. Kristina’s called next by the prosecution. She testifies about her pregnancy. Rick asks the judge if they can move the testimony along. Prosecutor asks Kristina about her relationship with Ava. She tells about why she went to see Ava. She received a subpoena to testify against her father for Avery’s custody. She lies about Ava taking her arm and pushing her through the window. Shocker! Kristina tells what happened when she awakened in the hospital. She re-emphasizes the fact that Ava pushed her out of the window. Rick cross-examines her and asks Why is she lying?? Oh OH!
Drew and Michael have a deal about the Aurora CEO job, and Willow. Drew leaves happily. What he didn’t know was that Michael was recording their conversation. Michael calls Curtis and plays it for him to hear and asks if he will now help get Drew out of Aurora permanently.
