This episode’s opening scene begins in the Quartermaines Living Room. Lois and Olivia are happy to hear Gio’s news. He’s playing the National Anthem at the PCU-Landview Game with his violin. Chase interrupts the merriment to ask if anyone’s seen Brook Lynn. She comes up behind, and they run upstairs. Lois, Olivia and Gio laughingly exchange knowing glances. Gio goes to practice outside. Lois and Olivia just laugh. Chase and Brook Lynn head to their bedroom for a baby making session, do a little pillow talk and more baby making. Downstairs, Lois and Olivia discuss her becoming a grandmother and Dante’s family.
Outside on the deck Gio is practicing focusing on his music, and doesn’t see Lulu. She complements him on his great playing. He talks to her and mentions the reason he is there without knowing who she is. Lulu quickly leaves. She sneaks into the Quartermaine house and Rocko sees her in the hallway.
In the bathroom at Maxie’s house, STILL stunned, Sasha exclaims to Maxie she can’t believe how it happened. She just had a one-night stand with a guy in a bar, and now she’s pregnant. She’s freaking out and doesn’t know if she can go through pregnancy again. It stirs up too many hurtful memories. Maxie tells Sasha she needs to do what is best for her.
Lulu enters the house near where Cody dropped her off. Walking in, she looks around and James comes out of the kitchen carrying a plate of cookies. He asks who she is, and she asks him the same. Lulu questions why he is in her house. James tells the stranger, Lulu, that this isn’t her house. Lulu tries to reason with James, and he yells for his Mom. Maxie runs out into the family room with a bat and asks James what was happening. She doesn’t believe him when he tells her about the lady in the house. The door is unlocked, and Maxie discovers the spare key was missing. Maxie asks James if he took it, and he says no.
Sasha hastily leaves, but not before Maxie gets her to commit to a talk tomorrow. Spinelli enters as she leaves. Maxie asks James about the stranger. Spinelli has a way to solve the mystery with a camera he installed outside. They see the stranger but can’t identify her. Spinelli suggests they take James to PCPD to give them a description. James sees a picture of the stranger in a book on the coffee table. On to Turning Woods, Luke and Liz angrily question the facility’s administrator why they would let a violent convicted criminal in their facility. The administrator said Mr. Renault has authorization to act on the behalf of the family. Lucky immediately denies it. He says his Mom, Laura, banned Cyrus from seeing Lulu at GH, and he’s certain she wouldn’t give him access at the long-term facility. Lucky asks to see the facility’s security footage. An attendant passing by Lulu’s room sees the commotion and calls Cyrus. He tells him his nephew is there, and his niece is missing.
The administrator tells Lucky they will review the footage in the morning due to their protocols. Lucky says that’s not working for him. The administrator refuses to give him the footage. He leaves with Liz. Lucky and Liz confront Cyrus at work, and ask him where Lulu is. Lucky makes it clear he is not to come near his sister ever again. Cyrus tries to shame Lucky about not spending time with his family. Liz intervenes and guides Lucky away. He received the security footage and sees Lulu escaping.
Now back to the exciting courtroom drama. Rick is still cross-examining Kristina. He has dialed up the intensity. He says she always puts her father, Sonny, first. He accuses her of choosing her father over her child. Kristina is crumbling and states the baby was her child, and she says she was protecting her family. Rick counters with Molly is her family, and her reckless actions caused her child’s death. He keeps relentlessly interrogating Kristina. His in-your-face questions cause Kristina to cry uncontrollably. Alexis stands up and tells Rick to stop. She says that’s enough. The judge calls for order in the courtroom.
Alexis says he is doing more than badgering the witness. He’s assaulting her emotionally. The judge tells Alexis to leave, or she will be cited and arrested for contempt. Alexis states it’s Defense Attorney Lansing who’s showing contempt for the legal process. Sonny escorts Alexis out. Prosecution asks for a brief recess, and Rick says it’s unnecessary since he’s finished questioning the witness. The judge still grants the recess. Ava asks what Rick was doing, and he says he showed the jury how volatile and reckless Kristina is. Dante goes to hug Kristina and calm her down. He assures her the jury responds to truth, and she told hers. Molly and TJ discuss Kristina’s testimony. Molly goes to comfort her sister. Outside the courtroom, Alexis and Sonny discuss Rick’s strategy. Alexis sees his intentions.
Court convenes and Rick calls Natalia Ramirez, Blaze’s Mom, to the stand. He asks her about the recent car accident she had with Kristina. Rick plays the 911 call and asks her about Kristina’s emotional state. Natalia lies stating that she caused the accident. Rick asks if she is testifying under oath that she was responsible for the accident. He asks her to describe what happened, and who they called. Rick knows she’s lying. He calls his next witness, Molly. Molly testifies about Kristina’s response to the subpoena to testify against her father. This strengthens his case. Ava is his next witness. She testifies about Kristina’s behavior and mental state. She tells she grabbed her shoulder, and how Kristina pushed past her and lost her balance, and everything she did afterwards. She told of her regrets that happened that day, and confirms it was a tragic accident. Both the prosecution and defense give their closing statements. Prosecution asks the jury to find her guilty of manslaughter. Rick’s statement is clear, methodical, and explains the emotional decisions that led to the accidental tragic death of Baby Irene. The jury leaves to deliberate. Molly finally sees that it was a tragedy, and TJ is shocked. Kristina is still calling for Ava’s punishment. Ava says she thinks at least one juror believes Rick, as they leave.
What will the verdict be? Will Ava get off? Will Lulu stay and see the rest of her family at the Quartermaines? What will Sasha do?
Quartermaine Thanksgiving Fiasco is yet to come.
