"Ghosts" has really struck a chord with fans, thanks to its delightful mix of humor and heartfelt moments! With Season 4 officially here, anticipation is building for how the quirky characters and their stories will evolve. The addition of Flower's storyline in Season 3 added an unexpected twist, especially after her brief departure, while Isaac's fate has left viewers eagerly speculating. The writers did a fantastic job resolving lingering plot points from the previous season, setting the stage for more comedic escapades.
The Season 4 premiere, titled "Patience," dives right into the aftermath with Sam and the spirits searching for Isaac, particularly after his encounter with the Puritan ghost Patience. This new character adds a fresh dynamic, showcasing her struggles with isolation alongside the show’s signature humor. The flashback scene to give viewers her backstory was a nice touch and full of comedy.
When we catch up with her again, she has Isaac in a panic and rightfully so - who wants to be trapped in the dirt. It also seems that the years trapped have made her go a little insane as she hilariously shouts out her name randomly when feeling emotional.
Before anyone realizes Isaac is missing, Mark stops by with samples for the restaurant and but before any decisions can be made, Sam points out to Jay that Isaac must approve. Nigel is hanging around the house sadly and Jay realizes he is of no use in these missions when talking to the ghosts (perhaps this will change during the season).
When they go looking for him, Nancy begins to act suspiciously while Trevor's powers are on the fritz (perhaps something that may be explored later in the season). Back in the dirt Isaac sort of sweet talks his way out of Patience being angry with him. He says he misses his friends and Patience has an idea.
While everyone is in the basement questioning Nancy, Sass trick Stewart into spilling what happened to Isaac. As Nancy is explaining, Patience shows us and drags Sass into the dirt so Isaac won't be alone. The gang tries to question Flower to find out if she remembers anything about Patience which goes about how well you expect.
Pete points out that Patience is taking everyone that was in the dirt with her and Thor may be next which scares Thor who doesn't want to show it until Trevor sneaks up on him and he cuts off his arm in terror. When we return back to Isaac and Sass they are talking crap about Patience but does not realize she is behind them.
Jay is digging a ditch to find Isaac and Sass based off information from Flower - which I do not know why they thought that was a good idea. But they did find a family of bunnies (super cute). When Alberta informs Thor he can come closer to ditch and stop being scared he calls her hat small and ugly. I love this dynamic between these two characters. They hate each other and I am living for it.
Patience decides to return Isaac and Sass back to the mansion. Unfortunately she feels her one true friend is the dirt. When everyone is together again, Jay informs Sam the reason for the high water bill is because the fountain is dripping water which Sass remembers that they heard water dripping in Patience's lair.
They decide to form a ghost human chain to bring Patience into the house.
All well that ends well - this is Ghosts - we shall see but with the new addition of Patience more comedy is on the horizon and I for one couldn't be more excited!
