Season 4, Episode 13 of Ghosts, titled "Ghostfellas," was another fantastic, laugh-out-loud episode that I thoroughly enjoyed. Shout out to Rose McIver for directing this episode! The premise of the episode is simple yet really fun: Pete shares a secret family pasta sauce recipe with Jay, and it quickly becomes a crowd favorite. However, things get complicated when Carol’s cousin, Anthony, shows up at the restaurant, recognizes the sauce, and gives Jay a stern warning to take it off the menu. At first, Jay dismisses the threat, thinking he can handle a bad Yelp review, but then Carol drops the bombshell that her family is connected to the mob. At first I couldn't stand Carol, but the character has grown on me.

I loved how Pete had no idea about Carol’s family ties and the fact that his whole career at the travel agency was a cover for mob activities. The flashbacks were hilarious and really added to the absurdity of Pete’s obliviousness, which just made everything funnier. It was one of those moments where you realize how much comedy comes from the ghosts’ lack of knowledge about the modern world. Pete's reaction to learning about the mob ties was priceless, too—he was genuinely shocked, and you could see his whole world shift.

When Jay eventually removes the sauce from the menu, I thought that would be the end of it, but of course, Anthony escalates things by showing up every night, hoping to bankrupt Jay so he can take over the restaurant. It was a really clever way to up the stakes and add some tension to the otherwise lighthearted show. But Pete, in the end, really stepped up and confronted Carol, which I loved. His willingness to face the situation head-on was a great moment for his character. The reveal of where to find the books that show the illegal money flow was a nice touch, and Anthony backing off was the perfect conclusion to the whole ordeal.

On the ghost side of things, Hetty and Trevor continue to be the scheming duo that nobody saw coming. Their manipulative antics and partnership were hilarious, and I loved how they managed to get their own rooms, showing that the ghosts still know how to stir up some drama. The fact that Flower and Thor, as well as Isaac and Alberta, end up moving in together felt like a natural progression, adding a bit of emotional depth to the show’s comedic foundation. While Flower and Thor are the romantic ghost couple, Isaac and Alberta have this love/hate relationship where Isaac is always oblivious to the racial undertones of his comments but it is done in a clever way.

Overall, this episode was a great mix of humor and heart, with some clever plot twists and character growth. It’s just one of those shows that continues to surprise and entertain, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Ghosts never fails to deliver when it comes to combining the supernatural with the hilarious, and "Ghostfellas" was no exception.
