"Sam's Dad" is about well - Sam's father comes to visit. Portrayed by the veteran actor Dean Norris. He isn't alone however - joining him is his new girlfriend Diane.
It’s my favorite day of the week when Ghosts graces my screen again! This lovable group of dead misfits always gets me in the Halloween spirit, and I can’t forget their adorable living caretakers who restore my faith in humanity.
In the episode "Sam's Dad," we see Sam’s father, played by the veteran Dean Norris, come for a visit, and he’s not alone—his new girlfriend Diane joins him. Right off the bat, we meet Patience, the new ghost, who humorously declares that a toaster is “the bread returned from the underworld singed by hellfire.” Her creepy charm adds a fun layer to the episode, even as Pete awkwardly reveals his strange desire for Sam to call him “daddy.” Yikes, Pete!
When Frank arrives, everything seems to start off smoothly until Patience learns that Frank and Diane aren’t married and will be sharing a room. Sam asserts her dominance as the living head of the mansion, but Patience threatens to use her ghost powers to make the walls bleed if Frank doesn’t sleep in a different room.
The tension builds as Sam and Jay quickly convince the couple to separate for the night.
However, Frank, acting like a teenager, sneaks into Diane's room, and they wake up to the word "SIN" written in blood on the wall. Naturally, Frank blames Sam, recalling how she once cut an ex-girlfriend's hair to get his attention and then pinned it on a ghost.
As Jay fills the ghosts in on the family dynamics, we get a poignant backstory about Sam and Frank’s strained relationship after the divorce, which adds emotional depth to the episode. When Frank and Diane prepare to leave, he opens up about being forced to stay away by Sam’s mother, expressing his regret about missing Sam’s recorder recital. This heartfelt moment leads to Sam and Frank reconciling, allowing him to finally attend her performance.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the mansion, Isaac grapples with the task of telling Nigel it’s time to move out. With help from Thor and Flower, the effort hilariously backfires, leading to more antics. Isaac even offers to move into the shed, but the shed ghosts refuse him, adding another layer of humor to the subplot.
Overall, this episode of Ghosts strikes a perfect balance of humor and heartfelt moments, delivering another fantastic installment. Now I turn it over to you! Leave a comment and don’t forget to vote in our poll.
