Gina Rodriguez Joins Will Trent Season 3

Gina Rodriguez is set to join the cast of the ABC crime drama as a regular, as confirmed by TVLine. She will portray Marion Alba, described in the official character breakdown as "a confident and charismatic Assistant District Attorney who is new to Atlanta." When her initial interaction with Will doesn't go as expected, they are both surprised to find themselves collaborating on an investigation involving Atlanta's criminal underworld.

ADA Alba is introduced following the break-up of Will and Angie in Season 2. The finale on May 21 drastically impacted the main relationship of the series, as Will arrested Angie for tampering with evidence in the Lenny Broussard case. With Will and Angie separated, and possibly for good, it creates an opportunity for a new chapter in Will's romantic life.

Rodriguez, who recently appeared in the ABC sitcom Not Dead Yet, gained popularity for portraying the lead character in The CW’s cherished telenovela Jane the Virgin, which concluded its five-season journey in 2019. She is now the host of the ABC game show Lucky 13, alongside former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal.

The premiere of Will Trent Season 3 is scheduled for early 2025, with an anticipated 18-episode run with minimal interruptions.
