It has been a considerable amount of time since Kali Rocha played Dr. Sydney Heron on Grey's Anatomy. However, the actress is set to make a comeback in three episodes of the upcoming Season 21 of the popular ABC series, as confirmed by TVLine.
Sydney, the endlessly cheerful character, was first introduced in Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy as the resident who temporarily took over Bailey's role in supervising the interns. Rocha made recurring appearances in the subsequent two seasons, even going on a date with McDreamy himself, although it did not lead to a romantic connection.
More changes are ahead for Season 21, which premieres Thursday, Sept. 26, at 10/9c. Jake Borelli (Levi) and Midori Francis (Mika) are leaving, Michael Thomas Grant (as James, Grey Sloan’s new gay chaplain) will be joining the cast and an increased presence for Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) and Scott Speedman (Nick) is expected.
