Happy's Place Casts Elizabeth Alderfer as Reba's Daughter

Elizabeth Alderfer — most recognized for her lead role as Lizzie on CBS’ United States of Al — has been selected to play the character of Gracie, the daughter of Bobbie, portrayed by McEntire. Her first appearance will be in the middle of Season 1.

Similar to her mother, Gracie is described in the official character description as “direct and somewhat resilient.” “Gracie serves in the military and has been on duty abroad. She has just returned home to Knoxville on a surprise visit to her mother, only to be taken aback by the revelation that she now has an aunt she was unaware of.”

Along with her role in United States of Al, which concluded in 2022 after two seasons, Alderfer has also appeared in other TV shows including another Chuck Lorre sitcom, Netflix’s Disjointed, and Peacock’s A.P. Bio (where she had a recurring role as Lynette).

Debuting on Friday, October 18 (NBC, 8/7c), Happy’s Place follows Bobbie, who inherits the tavern named in the show's title from her late father and soon discovers she has a new partner in the business, Isabella (played by Hocus Pocus 2′s Belissa Escobedo), a half-sister in her twenties whom she never knew existed.

Reba co-star Melissa Peterman joins the cast as bartender Gabby. According to NBC, “she is somewhat clingy and theatrical, and would have been thrilled to be Bobbie’s sister,” a character description that strongly resembles her former role as Barbra Jean.

According to Je-Ree Reviews Media, actor Steve Howey, known for his role as Van Montgomery in Reba, will make a guest appearance in the Christmas episode of Happy’s Place... possibly as a sperm donor for Gabby, Peterman’s character.

Completing the ensemble are Reba McEntire's actual partner Rex Linn from Young Sheldon, portraying tavern chef Emmett; Tokala Black Elk from Yellowstone in the role of waiter Takoda; and Pablo Castelblanco from Alaska Daily as accountant Steve.
