Hulu’s upcoming sitcom Mid-Century Modern has already generated buzz with the release of its official trailer, promising viewers a delightful mix of humor, friendship, and heartwarming moments. Featuring powerhouse performers Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, and Nathan Lee Graham, the series is set to premiere on March 28, 2025, and it’s quickly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated shows of the year.

Mid-Century Modern is a sitcom that centers on three gay best friends—Bunny Schneiderman (Nathan Lane), Jerry Frank (Matt Bomer), and Arthur Broussard (Nathan Lee Graham)—who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years together in Palm Springs. The trio’s decision to live out their later years in the sunny desert town offers a refreshing take on friendship, aging, and how the bonds we create in life continue to shape us.

The series doesn’t just rely on its core trio of leads to carry the story. The talented ensemble cast also includes a host of well-known actors, such as Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Richard Kind, Judd Hirsch, Pamela Adlon, and Vanessa Bayer, all adding their own unique flair to the comedy. Notably, Linda Lavin stars as Bunny’s mother, Sybil Schneiderman, in her final acting role, making her inclusion even more special for fans.

Created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan—best known for their work on Will & GraceMid-Century Modern brings a familiar brand of witty humor and colorful characters, with a bit of a Golden Girls-esque flair. Just like the beloved series that chronicled the lives of four older women in Miami, Mid-Century Modern focuses on the strong relationships between its characters, blending humor with heartfelt moments of vulnerability. The dynamic between the three central characters has already drawn comparisons to the iconic Golden Girls, with their late-in-life adventures offering endless opportunities for both laughs and poignant reflections.

The creative team behind the series includes a star-studded lineup, with Glee creator Ryan Murphy serving as an executive producer. James Burrows, who is known for his work on Friends and Cheers, directs the pilot, bringing his years of sitcom expertise to the series.

The Mid-Century Modern trailer shows the three friends navigating life’s challenges together with humor and grace, and the chemistry between Lane, Bomer, and Graham is undeniable. Fans of the classic sitcom genre will appreciate the comedic timing, but the trailer also hints at moments of emotional depth, as the characters bond over personal triumphs and struggles.

Set in Palm Springs, the series evokes a laid-back, sunny atmosphere that mirrors the calm yet fulfilling nature of its characters' lives. The humor may be lighthearted, but Mid-Century Modern explores meaningful themes like aging, loss, and the importance of close-knit friendships. As the trio faces the inevitable challenges of getting older, their devotion to each other helps them weather life’s most difficult storms.

All ten episodes of Mid-Century Modern will be available for streaming on Hulu starting March 28, 2025. With its stellar cast, engaging storyline, and feel-good vibes, the series promises to be a must-watch for fans of ensemble comedies and heartfelt narratives alike. If the trailer is any indication, Hulu’s Mid-Century Modern will leave audiences both laughing and reflecting on the friendships that define their lives.

It’s clear that Mid-Century Modern has the potential to become a beloved classic in the making, one that will resonate with viewers for years to come. So, gather your friends, make a bowl of popcorn, and mark your calendars for this heartwarming, hilarious journey into the golden years of friendship.
