Interview With the Vampire is Now Streaming on Netflix

Louis and Lestat fans fans rejoice! Now you can watch season one of your favorite toxic vampires over and over again on Netflix. The streamer dropped the first season on 8/19.

This reimagining of Anne Rice's classic novel, follows the human turned vampire Louis as he recalls his transformation and love affair with the vampire Lestat to quick witted journalist Daniel. The show airs on AMC/AMC+ recently concluding its second season and renewed for a third.

Louis and Lestat's extraordinary love story, along with the ensuing conflicts, takes viewers on a captivating journey spanning over a century. While blood will be shed, the narrative also delves into moments of passion and heartache, highlighting how immortality seldom serves as a remedy for life's profound challenges. In many cases, it merely gives rise to even greater adversaries.

The terror of existence, mortality, affection, and the notion of everlastingness (infused with a touch of dramatic flair) — akin to most vampire-themed literature. In a technical sense, at least.

However, if you're curious about the storyline of Interview with the Vampire, it all revolves around the title. The narrative focuses on the eponymous interview between elderly journalist Daniel and his interviewee, Louis, an almost 150-year-old vampire. They had previously conducted an unpublished interview around 50 years ago in San Francisco, and now Louis wishes to clarify the facts.  

The outcome is a narrative that jumps through time, recounting how a Creole brothel proprietor in early 20th-century New Orleans transformed into an immortal residing in Dubai. Commencing in 1910, we track Louis as he develops a romantic bond with his vampire creator, Lestat. Their intricate and unforgettable relationship unfolds over numerous decades, delving into shades of ethics along the way.
