Few people have shown as much dedication to raising money for worthy causes as The Young and the Restless’ Kate Linder (Esther Valentine). Over the years, her charitable teas have become beloved events, where fans of the show and cast members come together to support important causes. Always full of warmth and good conversation, these gatherings have raised significant funds for various causes close to Kate’s heart.
This year, however, Kate is switching things up—she’s swapping out tea for brunch and is bringing her signature passion for philanthropy to a new cause. On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Kate will host the “Shine a Light on Breast Cancer Brunch” in Ontario, Canada, a special charity event to raise funds for breast cancer survivors.
Kate will be joined by The Young and the Restless co-stars Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin), Bryton James (Devon Winters), Sean Dominic (Nate Hastings), and Conner Floyd (Chance Chancellor IV), as well as entertainment reporter Morgan Hoffman, who will serve as the event’s emcee. Together, they will offer fans a chance to enjoy a delicious brunch, participate in a Q&A session with the cast, get autographs (one per person), and bid on exclusive items in a live and silent auction. One of the event’s top prizes will be a chance to win a tour of the Y&R set, led by none other than Kate herself.
The event will raise funds for after BREAST CANCER (ABC), a Toronto-based program that provides crucial support to breast cancer survivors, including access to mastectomy bras, prostheses, and other essential services. Founded by Alicia Vianga in 2013, ABC helps women who are uninsured or facing financial challenges navigate life after breast cancer with dignity and care.
Kate has long been an advocate for those affected by cancer, and she’s excited to partner with ABC for this meaningful cause. “I’m thrilled to be working with after BREAST CANCER to raise awareness about the challenges breast cancer survivors face, both during and after treatment,” said Kate. “This cause is very close to my heart, and I’m honored to be able to help bring attention to the important work that ABC does for those in need.”
With proceeds benefiting ABC’s Care KIT! Thrive Program and survivor workshops, the event promises not only to be a fun afternoon but also one that makes a real difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Venue Event Space (2800 Hwy 7, Vaughan, ON). General admission tickets are $150 and include drinks, hors d'oeuvres, brunch, entertainment, and complimentary parking. For those wanting an even more exclusive experience, VIP tickets are available for $300 and offer a private meet-and-greet with the cast, preferred seating, and a special gift bag.
“It’s always a joy to come together with fans and fellow castmates for such a meaningful cause,” said Kate. “I can’t wait to see everyone at this exciting brunch, and I’m hopeful that we’ll make a real impact on the lives of those who need it most.”
