Lady Gaga to Join Wednesday Season 2: Mother Monster Takes on the Addams Family

Lady Gaga is set to join the cast of Wednesday Season 2, according to EW.com. The Grammy- and Oscar-winning singer and actress is currently filming her role for the series in Europe, adding her star power to the already-quirky world of the Addams Family.

In a sneak peek video released during Netflix’s Geeked Week in September, Catherine Zeta-Jones — who plays Morticia Addams, Wednesday's mother — teased that Season 2 is going to be "bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine." And if you thought that sounded intense, Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular Wednesday, added her signature deadpan humor: “If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed. And I’m not that generous.”

While the show’s follow-up promises to ramp up the eeriness and drama, Season 2 will be missing two key cast members from Season 1. Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe) and Naomi J. Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), who were series regulars in the first season, will not be returning. Ortega has already confirmed that the love triangle subplot between Hynes White’s Xavier and Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin will be written out in favor of focusing more heavily on the horror elements of the series.

Lady Gaga’s involvement marks another exciting chapter in her already extensive TV and film career. Known for her standout roles in American Horror Story, Gossip Girl (as herself), The Simpsons, and The Sopranos, Gaga’s range continues to captivate audiences. On the big screen, she has earned critical acclaim for her performances in A Star Is Born (which won her an Oscar for Best Original Song for “Shallow”), House of Gucci, and Joker: Folie à Deux.

Wednesday Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix next year, with fans eagerly awaiting the addition of Gaga to the spooky and darkly comedic world of the Addams Family.
