Paramount+ has unveiled a new trailer for the second season of Lioness (formerly known as Special Ops: Lioness), set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 27, with the first two of its eight episodes.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and inspired by a real U.S. military program, Lioness follows CIA station chief Joe McNamara, portrayed by executive producer Zoe Saldaña, as she navigates the complexities of her professional and personal life while leading efforts in the war on terror.
The cast also features Laysla De Oliveira, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, and others. New faces this season include Bruce McGill as NSA Chief Damian Hollar, Jennifer Ehle as Chief of Staff Mason, and Genesis Rodriguez as Captain Josephina "Josie" Carillo, a dedicated helicopter pilot grappling with the moral implications of military operations.
The trailer highlights the tense dynamic between Joe and Josie, with Saldaña’s character questioning Josie's commitment to her country. Season 1 achieved significant success, breaking records as Paramount+’s most-watched series premiere with nearly six million viewers in its first week.
