Brittany A. Little and Larissa Bell have launched Little Bell Productions with a first-look deal at Universal Television. Their inaugural project will be adapting Kimberly Belle’s thriller novel The Paris Widow into a series. The novel, published by Park Row in June, follows a married couple whose dream vacation in Paris turns into a nightmare when secrets from the past unravel. The story centers on Stella, whose husband Adam goes missing after an explosion, revealing his criminal ties and leaving Stella to uncover the truth behind his disappearance.
The adaptation will be executive produced by Little, Bell, and Talitha Watkins, the President of ColorCreative. Belle will serve as a co-producer. Little, formerly VP of Drama Development at Universal TV, and Bell, previously a Development Executive at Amazon Studios, bring a wealth of experience to this new venture. They have both worked on notable series such as Bel-Air, The Equalizer, I’m a Virgo, and Swarm.
Little and Bell expressed their excitement about this new chapter and their partnership with Universal Television, emphasizing their mission to tell stories that capture universal experiences in unique ways. Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, praised their creative instincts and passion, highlighting The Paris Widow as a prime example of the compelling narratives expected from this collaboration.
Kimberly Belle, the author of The Paris Widow and other books like The Marriage Lie, expressed her enthusiasm about the adaptation and the opportunity to set the story in Paris, a city she considers her second home.
