TVLine dropped the trailer for the new NCIS spinoff - NCIS Origins earlier today.

The new series premieres Monday, Oct. 14 at 9/8c, with its first two episodes.

Set in 1991, NCIS: Origins chronicles the early days of Gibbs as he embarks on his journey as a freshly appointed Special Agent at the NIS Camp Pendleton office. It depicts his integration into a tough, unconventional team under the guidance of the renowned Mike Franks.

Austin Stowell, known for his roles in A Friend of the Family and Secret Life of the American Teenager, takes on the character of Gibbs, originally portrayed by Mark Harmon in NCIS. Meanwhile, Kyle Schmid, recognized for his work in SIX and Big Sky, embodies a youthful version of Muse Watson as Franks.

Mariel Molino, known for her role in Promised Land, portrays Special Agent Lala Dominguez, a former Marine with a dark sense of humor. Tyla Abercrumbie, recognized from The Chi, plays Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Hayes, humorously referring to herself as “HSIC” (Head Secretary in Charge). Diany Rodriguez, from The Blacklist, embodies Special Agent Vera Strickland, a tough Brooklynite. Caleb Foote, seen in Made for Love, takes on the role of Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, the “golden boy” responsible for guiding Gibbs.

Robert Taylor from Longmire appears in the trailer as Jackson Gibbs, Jethro's tough father, and Bobby Moynihan from SNL plays the role of lead forensics analyst Woody Browne. Additionally, Patrick Fischler from Mad Men is heard at the beginning of the trailer as Cliff Walker, the Special Agent in Charge responsible for supervising NIS' new Pendleton office.

Gibbs joined NIS shortly after finishing his service in Operation Desert Storm and retiring, all the while grieving for Shannon and Kelly, who were both killed by drug dealer Pedro Hernandez while Gibbs was still abroad, preparing to return home.

Although Mark Harmon will not be seen in the series, he will act as the narrator and executive producer. His son, Sean Harmon, who portrayed Young Gibbs in NCIS flashbacks and conceived the idea for the prequel, will also be an executive producer alongside co-showrunners Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North.
