Netflix Renews 'Supacell' for Season 2

Confirmed by the crew and Netflix's social media accounts, fans can breath a sigh of relief as the official word on the fate of Supacell was announced this morning.

The debut TV series of Rapman is based in modern-day South London, where a group of five ordinary Black individuals, connected by a family history of sickle cell disease, unexpectedly acquire superpowers and find themselves being chased by a clandestine organization seeking to manipulate them.

This show has been a major success for Netflix, emerging as one of the most significant productions to come out of the UK in recent times, and has been topping charts globally for several weeks. Even weeks after its release, it continues to hold a place in various global top 10 lists. Netflix recently announced the renewal of the series on X.

Supacell is the brainchild of Rapman, the director of Blue Story, and Sebastian Thiel. The cast includes Tosin Cole, Jessica Magaye, Ricardo McCleary-Campbell, Saraphina Mattis, Melissa Simon-Hartman, Cleo Young, and Micheal Ademilua, collectively known as the Supacell Six.

Mark Hedges is the series producer of Supacell, with Sheila Nortley as the Block2 producer and associate producer. Geraldine Hawkins serves as co-producer. Rapman acts as an executive producer alongside Anna Ferguson and Steve Searle for Netflix. Mouktar Mohammed from New Wave is also an executive producer, while Henrietta Lee is an associate producer.
