Lifetime is continuing its promise of delivering diverse storytelling with another romantic tv movie from their partnership with novelist Terry McMillan. Terry McMillan of course is the best selling author of How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Waiting to Exhale - both novels went on to become hit films.
In Forever, a film presented by Terry McMillan, Johnnie (Diggs) comes back home following military service only to be surprised by divorce papers. At a pivotal moment in his life, he unexpectedly falls for Carlie (Good), a local policewoman who had pulled him over for speeding. To win her heart, he must first gain the approval of her three daughters. Johnnie realizes that in order to be the partner Carlie needs, he must confront and let go of his past fears and regrets, ultimately discovering the essence of love and family.
As mentioned, McMillan, renowned for her novels adapted into successful films like How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Waiting to Exhale, reunites with Diggs in Forever, continuing the tradition of Terry McMillan Presents movies that spotlight the love and lives of African American women.
Forever is a production of The Ninth House in collaboration with GroupM Motion Entertainment. Taye Diggs, Meagan Good, and Terry McMillan serve as executive producers. Charles Murray directs and executive produces, with the script penned by Bart Baker. Richard Foster and Chet Fenster are executive producers for GroupM Motion Entertainment.
