Réal Andrews has revealed to Soaps In Depth magazine that he will be joining the new soap opera Beyond the Gates, per Celebrating the Soaps (via IMDB), which is slated to air in January 2025 on CBS. Réal expressed that this is the biggest role of his career, and he’s thrilled to be working on one of the largest networks with top executives and writers.
This exciting news comes after more than a year of his absence from General Hospital, where he portrayed Marcus Taggert from 1996 to 2003, and again from 2020 to 2023 to great fanfare. Social media has been buzzing with calls for Réal to return to the soap opera world. While many expected him to rejoin General Hospital, he recently confirmed that his time with the show had ended, and he was moving on to new opportunities.
It seems he’s found those bigger and better things with Beyond the Gates. Though Réal was unable to share specific details about his character or role due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), fans of the soap opera genre are eagerly anticipating his return.
