'SEAL Team' Season 7 Episode 8 "Appetite for Destruction" Review

SEAL Team is really ramping up the tension as it approaches the series finale! "Appetite for Destruction" effectively blends intense action with character-driven moments, which is crucial for a series like this. The camaraderie among the team is returning, especially with Jason showcasing his true self again. That dynamic really adds depth, especially considering the emotional weight Jason carries regarding his past decisions.

The exploration of Ray and Jason’s relationship is particularly compelling. Their conversation reflects a deeper understanding of their struggles, highlighting how sometimes just being there for someone is enough. It’s a relief to see them reconnect, especially given the heavy burdens they both bear. Omar’s backstory adds another layer of complexity to the narrative, and it’s unfortunate that it hasn’t been explored more deeply. It seems like the show has a lot of potential for rich storytelling that could have been tapped into further.

Omar has a sorrowful personal history. Similar to numerous individuals in his field, he struggled with alcoholism, resulting in the loss of his wife and son. His wife remarried someone from Foxtrot, who now raises Omar's son as his own. Omar turned his life around and opted not to disrupt his son's stability, opting instead to send occasional gifts as "Uncle Omar." It's understandable why he is apprehensive about Ray's presence. Ray represents a rare opportunity for Omar, as he has a promising family life and a future beyond Bravo, whereas Omar's focus is solely on his job.

Lisa and Sonny's relationship dynamic is intriguing, especially with the tension around their futures in the Navy. Sonny’s willingness to sacrifice for Lisa shows the depth of his feelings, which adds a poignant layer to their storyline. Lisa tries her best to keep her distance from Sonny, but her efforts are always in vain. Sonny is willing to do anything to have a future with Lisa.

The writers are setting up some significant stakes for Lisa and Sonny. Their relationship has been fraught with tension, and the idea that one of them might let go of their Naval career to be together is a powerful narrative thread. It adds depth to their characters and raises questions about sacrifice and commitment.

This kind of choice could lead to some emotionally charged moments, especially considering how much their careers define them. It’ll be interesting to see how they navigate those conversations—whether they’ll prioritize love over duty, and what that means for their futures.

The impending reveal about Curtis and his motivations will likely lead to some interesting consequences for the team. Curtis’s betrayal adds an unexpected twist, and it seems like it will force the rest of Bravo to confront their own insecurities. It’s a great way to up the stakes as we head into the finale.

It seems like the stakes are high, and with only two episodes left, there’s a lot of potential for dramatic moments.
