'SEAL Team' Season 7 Episode 9 Review: The Sea And The Hills

Season 7 Episode 9 of SEAL Team set the stage beautifully for the finale! It’s always bittersweet when a beloved series approaches its end, especially one that has built such strong character dynamics like Bravo Team.

Curtis’s history with Nazario really complicates things for the team! That kind of personal history can create a lot of tension and make it difficult for teammates to navigate their loyalties. Sonny’s line about “never trusting a ginger” adds a humorous touch to an otherwise serious situation—it's always nice to have those lighter moments amidst the drama!

Jason’s reaction is expected! Trust is everything in a team like Bravo, and seeing someone they relied on turn against them must have been a gut punch. The stakes are incredibly high when it involves something as dangerous as fentanyl, and it makes sense that Jason would take it personally. His determination to confront this betrayal likely added a lot of emotional weight to the episode.

It’s interesting how the show balances the intense moments with character development, especially as they head toward the finale. It’s fascinating how the show dives into the psychological toll of their experiences and how they impact relationships within the team. Jason seeing Curtis as a role model makes sense, but it also highlights the struggle between admiration and disillusionment, especially as he confronts his own demons.

Ray’s insight about Jason’s mindset really shows the depth of their friendship and how they push each other to face their truths. The burn box and the concept of “cleaning his kills” add a haunting layer to Jason’s journey. He’s at a crucial crossroads, especially with the final episode looming.

With the weight of his past on his shoulders, it’ll be interesting to see how he reconciles that while dealing with the intense situation ahead.

Stella and Sonny’s relationship adds another layer of complexity to the storyline. Even if they’re not on screen together frequently, their connection reflects the shifting dynamics within the team and the personal struggles each character faces.

Stella’s presence likely serves as a reminder of what’s at stake for everyone, especially as the series heads toward its conclusion. It can be tough for characters to maintain relationships when their lives are so chaotic, and it makes sense that they’d be feeling the strain as the team faces these challenges.

Losing Leanne and now facing changes with Stella and Brian must feel like everything he’s known is slipping away. It’s a tough situation, especially with his promise to Clay weighing on him. Stella finding a new direction adds an emotional layer to the narrative, highlighting the theme of moving on and redefining oneself amidst chaos. Sonny’s struggle to support Clay’s family while dealing with his own losses really emphasizes the show’s focus on loyalty and sacrifice. It seems like this final stretch is filled with poignant moments that make you reflect on the sacrifices these characters have made.

Jason's struggle with carrying the names of those he’s lost—and killed—really encapsulates the emotional weight that soldiers often bear. It’s a heavy burden, and revealing that to Drew shows how deeply he’s affected by his past. Holding onto that guilt and pain can be psychologically damaging, and it’s a poignant commentary on the toll that their lifestyle takes on them.

Having to leave his team for a sanctioned hit adds even more tension. It highlights the conflict between personal duty and team loyalty, which is a recurring theme in military dramas. Jason’s commitment to the mission versus his ties to Bravo creates an intense dynamic, especially as they face their last operation together.

Ray’s sendoff: it’s packed with action, but also emotional resonance. If Jason is tasked with such a significant and personal mission, it raises the stakes not just for him, but for the entire team. Do you think this split will ultimately bring them closer together or drive a wedge between Jason and his team?
