The Flash's Candice Patton Gives Birth; Co-Star Grant Gustin Sends Well Wishes

Candice Patton has given birth to her first child with rumored boyfriend ex-NBA player JR Smith.

For nine seasons (2014-2023) Candice starred on the popular CW superhero series The Flash as Iris West-Allen, wife of Barry Allen and intrepid reporter. Over the years Candice received racist messages for taking on the role which is traditionally white in the comics. However, her casting opened doors for changes in the superhero genre and more people of color were cast in similar roles.

Candice shared photos of her new baby on her Instagram with a caption that reads:

"Born at home, heart now beats outside my chest, in love forevermore"

Her fellow Arrowverse co-stars along with Grant Gustin, gave their congratulations.
