Hulu's The Handmaid’s Tale is set to bring its gripping journey to a close, with the release of the official trailer for its sixth and final season Wednesday morning from Hulu. April 8, 2025, is the day, as the highly anticipated conclusion will deliver the next chapter in the unbridled battle against Gilead, where June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) continues to fight for freedom, justice, and her family. Margaret Atwood’s story has created a strong fanbase and we all want to know how it ends.
In the trailer, viewers are given a hint of June’s steadfast resolve as she leads a revolution to bring down the oppressive regime that has destroyed countless lives. Gilead’s hold on power is slowly beginning to weaken, and June, who has already endured unimaginable loss and suffering, is ready to take the fight all the way to the heart of the regime. As the rebellion gains momentum, she becomes an even more of a force, willing to risk everything to tear down the system that has taken so much from her.
But the revolution isn’t without its complexities. The final season will also follow Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski), Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) and Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) who will be dealing with their own drama this final season. Meanwhile, Nick (Max Minghella) will face tests of his own character. All of these characters have kept us on the edge of our seats. Screaming, shouting, crying at them over five seasons. It will be tough to see the story end.
The final season will release in three parts, with the first three episodes available on premiere day, followed by weekly releases leading up to the series finale on May 27, 2025. Also prepare for the show to go out winning even more Emmy's than it already has.
