Tajh Bellow may not have been seen onscreen as TJ Ashford on General Hospital for weeks, but he's gearing up for an exciting new stage role. He's set to star in an electrifying revival of Topdog/Underdog, a modern classic by Suzan-Lori Parks. This gripping play, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2002, tells a darkly comic and poignant story of brotherly love and rivalry. The two brothers, Lincoln and Booth, are trapped in a web of their pasts haunted by their names and their choices. Lincoln takes on the job of impersonating his historical namesake, while Booth dives into the world of three-card monte, continuing his brother's old hustle. As their rivalry intensifies, the stakes in their relationship grow higher and higher.
Tajh Bellow will share the stage with Abraham Amkpa in the upcoming performances, running on March 14 and 15. This production, directed by Niyi Coker and produced by Rebecca Jackson, will take place at the Little Theatre in Athenaeum Nelson Mandela Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Bellow, who joined General Hospital as TJ Ashford in 2018, was promoted to contract status in 2022. However, as of February 2025, fans haven’t seen him on-screen for weeks, as he's returned to recurring status. In 2021, he earned a well-deserved Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series for his work on the soap. Now, he's channeling his talents into this powerful stage role, and fans can look forward to seeing him shine in this remarkable production.
I hope GH wakes up and resigns Taj as TJ back on a cast basis and has a miracle baby with Molly.
If Tajh wants to remain in the soap genre - I hope he gets casted in "Beyond The Gates". He deserves better than GH.
Tajh is a very fine actor, and I would like to see his character “front and center” in a storyline!
